The Bariatric and Metabolic Institute at Cleveland Clinic Florida Achieves National Accreditation
|
WESTON, Fla -
Cleveland Clinic Florida's
Bariatric and Metabolic Institute has been designated a 'Comprehensive Center' under the M
etabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP®). Accreditation acknowledges the hospital's commitment to providing and supporting quality improvement and safety efforts for patients undergoing metabolic and bariatric surgery.
"We are honored to have once again earned this designation, as it reinforces our clinical success and ability to achieve the highest standards for patient safety and quality of care," said
Wael Barsoum, MD, CEO and President of Cleveland Clinic Florida. "Cleveland Clinic Florida is committed to helping patients achieve their weight loss goals by providing multidisciplinary, patient-centered care."
A joint program of the
American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the
American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), the MBSAQIP designation confirms that Cleveland Clinic Florida met essential criteria for staffing, training and facility infrastructure and protocols for care. The Bariatric and Metabolic Institute also participates in a national data registry that yields semiannual reports on the quality of its processes and outcomes, identifying opportunities for continuous quality improvement.
