A Word from the President
TAKE NOTICE NOW:  $4.7 MILLION IS AT STAKE IN WYANDOTTE COUNTY!

This may seem a bit dramatic but, really, it's not.

My message here is a bit of a departure, but Census Day is April 1. The Census is conducted every 10 years and makes a real difference for our community. It impacts the level of federal funding we receive, our congressional representation, data used for businesses to expand/locate in Wyandotte County, and...well, the list goes on. The 2010 Census data show that our county was undercounted (four census tracts in particular) and if the same proportion is undercounted this year, Wyandotte County will lose over $4.7 million in federal funding.

So here is our charge: Let's get the word out to everyone we know that the Census is important and that everyone should complete the form: Connect with employees, employers, churches, and organizations that will reach the greatest number of people possible to encourage participation in the Census.  It's truly that significant.

The Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) serves as our metro coordinator for the Census, and you can find information and resources on their website here.  "Count Me In KC" is the slogan in Kansas City. Can I count you in to help achieve a complete count in the 2020 Census?
