First Time Tax Preparer?
Our  IRS AFSP Tax Return Preparer Prep Course including 18 hours of IRS Continuing Education, is an extensive course which will give you the knowledge needed to prepare tax returns.  In addition, the course enables you to participate in the IRS Annual Filing Season Program.  

For those wanting to become tax preparers in California, Oregon, and Maryland, we offer the  60-Hour CTEC California approved Qualifying Education. the  80-Hour (Oregon Board of Tax Practitioners Approved) Qualifying Education and the  Maryland Test Prep course.

Tax Preparers
To participate in the Annual Filing Season Program, non-credentialed tax return preparers must complete either 15 or 18 hour IRS continuing education.  For tax preparers in California you must complete 20 hours.  The CE must be completed by December 31st, 2016 in order to receive a 2017 Annual Filing Season program Record of Completion. Once you consent to adhere to the obligations in Circular 230, your credentials as an IRS Qualified Tax Preparer, is listed in a public database of return preparers on the IRS' website. In addition, AFSP participants have limited representations rights, they can represent clients whose returns they prepared and signed, before revenue agents, customer service representatives, and similar IRS employees, including the Taxpayer Advocate Service.
Enrolled Agents
Did you know?  there is an Enrolled Agent Credential Act allows EA's to use and display the credential when advertising services and representing clients. Last December, President Obama signed into law the bill that protects the right of enrolled agents in every part of the U.S. to hold forth their federally-awarded credential.

Certified Public Accountants 
The following states Boards no longer maintain a formal CPE Sponsor program. Instead, they have defined the requirements for acceptable CPE courses and Platinum Professional Services courses meets these standards. Platinum Professional Services offers a formal program of self study, provides interactive self study CPE courses, and issues certificates of completion for all courses as proof that you completed a course. All Platinum Professional Services self study courses meet the requirements for Interactive Self Study defined by the NASBA / AICPA standards for self study CPE programs, which is why our CPE courses can be used in the following states.
