SFWMD Releases New SOUNDSCIENCE Podcast

West Palm Beach, FL - The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) today released its latest SOUND SCIENCE podcast with special guest and new SFWMD Governing Board Member Carlos Diaz.

Diaz, of Broward County, was appointed by Gov. Rick Scott before the SFWMD Governing Board's June meeting. He stopped by during his first meeting to discuss his priorities for his time serving on the Governing Board.

Diaz discussed his desire to ensure flood protection for the entire District, including Broward County, increase recreation on public lands owned by the District and use technology to increase efficiency at the District and improve its ability to manage water. Diaz co-founded a company that utilizes software to increase the energy efficiency of commercial properties.

SFWMD's SOUND SCIENCE podcast takes listeners inside the world of the agency's scientists and engineers as they work to manage and protect South Florida's water resources. Past episodes include looks at the use of prescribed burning, water conservation and how the District was helping South Florida recover from Hurricane Irma.
