May Mission of the Month - ELCA World Hunger Relief
According to the ELCA website, "One billion of our neighbors - that's one in seven people in our world today - live in poverty. As members of the ELCA, we are called to respond. Working through Lutheran connections in the United States and around the world, we start by listening to the needs of our neighbors and getting their ideas to help break the cycle of hunger and poverty. Then we partner with them to make their dreams and hopes a reality." For the month of May, we are asking members of St. James to consider supporting the ELCA in their efforts to end world hunger. May 20 is a special day in the life of our congregation as we come together to support Will Young as he affirms his faith. Everyone is encouraged to attend our 9 am worship service and stick around afterward to offer support to our newest confirmand.
Confirmation is a highlight of our church year and a unique opportunity to witness the faith formation of our youth!
Women's Bible Study
The final Women's Bible Study before the summer will be held on Thursday, May 17th. Please stay tuned for more information about Bible Study at St. James in the Fall 2018!
Summer Worship
Beginning on Sunday June 10, we will be adjusting our worship format slightly for the Summer. Our schedule will remain the same: 9 am Contemporary and 11 am Traditional. However, we will be changing the order of service for the 11 am worship. We will keep the essential elements of worship: Word, Communion, Prayer, and song, but will offer a pared-down service for the summer months that should run for about 30 minutes. If you have any questions about this, feel free to be in touch with Pastor Andrew or a member of the Worship and Music Team. A draft outline of the service is available on the information table in the Community Room.
St. James Congregational Barbecue

Church Softball Team
