This seminar will define what a financial institution is, what and who your client is, and who regulates the financial institution. It will also address professional liability considerations and substantive issues in connection with lending, real estate, debt collection, deposits and accounts, privacy and information management, and employment.

The ability for a homeowner to refinance the mortgage and remove an ex-spouse is critical to good finances. Courts cannot compel lenders to advance funds; leaving divorce settlements with, seemingly, few avenues or remedies for the reasonable requirement to refinance joint debt OUT of one party’s liability. This conundrum can easily be resolved by establishing a series of triggers. But a greater question than HOW an agreed divorce settlement can require such is WILL such a transaction actually take place.
