Let the sun shine,
Oh, please let the sun shine in! We've had a lot of days recently of snowy, gray, messy days with no color whatsoever. As quilters, color is our muse. All we need for a new idea some days is a new color combination. It's quite amazing how quickly it can happen. At the shop, we can be looking through a magazine, working on a sample, or just looking at a stack of bolts a customer has put on the counter. Suddenly, we get a jolt that sends us in search of a new project (after the customer leaves, of course). Does it work that way for you, too?
We're prepping for Shop Hop now - snacks have been purchased, the sample is made, and our raffle prize basket has been assembled. That means we're down to the last few items to check off the list - getting the pattern ready, straightening bolts, and cutting fat quarters - lots and lots of fat quarters. We're looking forward to seeing our Hoppers in a few weeks, and our regular customers every day.  EQ8: Learn More About Electric Quilt Design Software with Colette Kaiser (March 7). Whether you have EQ8, are thinking about purchasing EQ8, or just want to know what it does, Colette will cover the basics of what this quilter-specific computer design program can do.
 Thread Painting with Anne Standish (March 14). Anne will walk you through threads, stitches, and textures as an introduction to the world of thread painting - enhancing your art quilts by using your sewing machine as a brush, and threads as paints.
 In addition, due to overwhelming demand, we've added a THIRD session for you featherweight enthusiasts! If you tried to sign up and the class was full, or if the previous dates didn't work for you, Suzy has agreed to come back in early April to teach even more of you how to care for your Featherweight:
Singer Featherweight 221 Machine Maintenance
with Suzy Klinefelter (April 11). Learn the basics of keeping your Featherweight running smoothly on your own! Suzy will also have some simple parts and supplies available for purchase during class.
Vermont Shop Hop 2020
Passports are in, and we're counting down the days! Help your favorite Vermont quilt shops celebrate 15 years of Shop Hop. We'll have projects, prizes, and more as you travel around the state collecting fabric and patterns to make in the coming year. Shop Hop 2020 runs from Friday, March 20 through Sunday, March 29.
Due to its popularity last year, this year's Shop Hop premium is a free half yard of fabric (under $15 a yard). What could be better? The only stipulation? Fabric must be picked out when you buy your passport. Passports are just $7.

New Kaffe Fassett prints have arrived, and it's time to play! Even Cindy, who is not a Kaffe fan, purchased one of these prints - anyone want to guess which one?
 Sunny Bee by Andover Check out these summery prints - the bees buzzing and the cheery sunflowers send our brains right to the warmth of August. Make an apron, or placemats and napkins, or even kitchen curtains. These two fabrics conjure hot, lazy days, which many of us are dreaming about right now!
 Anna from Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts by Andover Pretty, pretty pinks will always bring a smile. The two small dotted prints are wonderful complements to fabrics in many quilt genres. The large pink dot (center in photo) can easily stand on its own - wouldn't the little girl in your life look adorable in a dress made of this for Easter? There's still time to get to your machine!
 Turtle Bay by Maywood Studio The fabrics in this line are just gorgeous. The motifs (top, center & bottom in photo) look like they're etched in white into the mottled backgrounds. Deanna loved the top one so much she bought half the bolt to use as a backing! There's lots of ocean life to have fun with here.
