A Man's Man lives up to his name with a big win at Santa Anita!
A Man's Man, with turf wizard Umberto Rispoli in the irons, broke a step slow, tugged his way between horses then inched away and angled in, set the pace inside, opened up under a strong hand ride in the stretch and won clear after a couple of reminders to keep his mind on business (he can be a bit of a goof off!). He was in a long hold in the final strides and won by a comfortable 1 3/4 lengths in the fastest time of the day at the distance. This Maiden Allowance score was worth over $50,000 to the Partners because of the Cal-bred Bonus. It pays to be Cal-bred!
