My family just got back from spending a few days in Atlanta. One of the things we did while there was visit the World of Coca Cola. I found myself incredibly awestruck by this company and not because I love their product. In fact, my family will tell you that Sprite is about the only soft drink that I'll drink and even then it's rare. I was in awe of the ways that Coke has figured out how to market themselves over time and all over the world. Literally y'all, we tasted the coke products that were sold all over the world. Hands down though, the following quote is what stood out the most to me:
"A bottle so distinct that it could be recognized by touch in the dark or when lying broken on the ground."
This was said back in 1915 and still holds true today. The company was 29 years old, but even then they could confidently say this about their product and now, over 100 years later, it's still true. I wondered if people could say that about us as Christians. Could the Light of Christ still be seen in us whether we enter into the darkness to minister or when we're lying broken on the ground?
Whew-- I came back refreshed and convicted, y'all! My prayer for us, as partners in the faith building of our children, is that we would be motivated to pour into them with everything we have. The Coca Cola product remained the same, but how they got it into the hands of people has changed. You can count on Family Ministry to be committed to the same. The message of Jesus will never change, but how we get it into the hands of the next generation will. It has to. I hope that, together, you and I will be good stewards of the time that we have with our children and help them to know that they would be able to recognize Jesus and stand in their faith in Him whether they are walking in the dark or lying broken on the ground.
Humbled to serve with you,
Stephanie
