Free Friday and Saturday evening trolley in Fredericksburg
City offering free "Around the Town" Trolley starting Friday

A free, family-friendly "Around the Town" service that offers participants a snapshot of the wonders of downtown Fredericksburg is returning this summer on Friday and Saturday evenings between May 31 (tomorrow night!) and August 31.  

Fredericksburg Food Cooperative incentive approved by Council

City Council this week approved a 10-year performance agreement that will facilitate the Fredericksburg Food Cooperative's planned Lee Plaza location. More details about the incentive are available below. The Fredericksburg EDA will take up the matter June 10.

Virginia's first multi-level go-kart track about to open in Central Park

Fun Land of Fredericksburg annual-pass holders will get a preview of the $1.2 million Thunder 104.5 Speedway from 5-9 p.m. June 7. The grand opening will run from noon to 10 p.m. June 8. We are so excited to have this added this to the mix of activities in the 'Burg.

City Council on Tuesday appointed three people to the Fredericksburg EDA -- Lee Murray, Chris Waller and Suzy Stone. We welcome them to the EDA!

City's quarterly financial report presented

This report was presented to the City Council on Tuesday. It goes over various aspects of the City's financial results for the first nine months of FY 2019 (July 1, 2018 - March 31, 2019). The report also provides comparative results for the similar nine-month periods in FY 2016 - FY 2018. 

B-FOR receives prestigious award
 
U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross recently presented Fredericksburg-based B-FOR International with the President's "E" Award for Export Service Excellence at a ceremony in Washington recognizing B-FOR's contribution to American export growth.  

'Discover Your Future!' event seeks area businesses

The Chamber's inaugural event will be Oct. 9-10 at the Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center in Celebrate Virginia South. 
The event is designed to help introduce students in Fredericksburg and the counties of Caroline, King George, Stafford and Spotsylvania to local businesses through career exploration, preparation and commitment.

The Bavarian Chef Fredericksburg sold to management team

Jerome and Christine Thalwitz announced that Jannec and Katherine Hornig have purchased The Bavarian Chef restaurant and will operate going forward as The Alpine Chef. Chef Jannec and his wife, Katherine, have been the restaurant's management team since 2014. They will continue to serve the quality dishes and drinks you enjoy with their warm hospitality.

2019 Business Appreciation Winner

The Department of Economic Development & Tourism honored Faded & Company during Business Appreciation month. The 2019 theme is inspired by "Businesses who give Back!"  Faded & Company, one of eight businesses chosen, is located at 2215 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Suite 100, and is owned by Mr. Antoine Carey. Open since January 2016, Mr. Carey and his team have been giving back to our community in many ways. The Thurman Brisben Center is thankful for the many free haircuts the company provides to residents. Mr. Carey partners with several groups in the region but noted FailSafe-ERA is one of his proudest collaborations when we visited him this week. We thank Faded & Company and Mr. Carey for their investment in our City and giving back to our community!

Chamber's Leadership Fredericksburg program graduates 12th class

Thirty-one fellows graduated during a ceremony May 17. Leadership Fredericksburg has graduated more than 300 fellows since it started in 2008. It is now accepting applications for its 2020 class.
