GREAT TRIP IN A MASSIVE STORM!
In spite of our best intentions to reach Moldova in our March trip, we had to concede that the raging snow and ice storm which hit Romania and Moldova would have made it too treacherous to cross the Carpathian Mountains in a car. As a result, we canceled the conference and decided at the last minute to do a conference in Timisoara where I had landed. Way to go, Alina (aka Super Woman!) It was a crowded room full of delightful Bible study group leaders who were so thankful to receive our Romanian translation of Beth Moore's LIVING BEYOND YOURSELF: Exploring the Fruit of the Spirit.
Another sweet blessing was working with a new friend, Cristina Boier. She's a gifted translator who not only helped me at the conference, but was my translation buddy throughout my trip. Love the hearts of these two gals, Alina and Cristina!
In addition to the conference, I was thrilled to join Alina's Monday night Bible study group at her church in Timisoara. These dear ladies are doing the
DANIEL: Lives of Integrity, Words of Prophecy Bible study in Romanian. They are one of three groups that meet weekly for Bible Study! What a joy to share a bit about my heart, my family, and the origins of Beautiful Gate Translations. They were excited to hear we have another Romanian Bible study project in translation right now. Their prayers deeply touched me. Powerful intercessors in this group!
And speaking of the DANIEL Bible study, upon my return to Texas I was super pleased to present to one of my dearest and long time friends, Magan Yarbrough, a framed copy of the cover of the Bible study with the dedication to her that was printed on the inside of the workbooks. She's been an Officer and Director for BGT for 10 years, and is an anchor of faith and vision. Love this dear woman of God. Our mutual friend, Michele Caldwell, joined us for dinner and celebration of God's goodness through ministry together. Michele is an awesome website host and designer!
Even though Alina, Dawn and I didn't get to take our grand adventure across the mountains and into Moldova, it was really great to have a brief time together for some fellowship and quick photo in the Square. Dawn Elenbaas is an amazing woman of God who works tirelessly as a child advocate, and she effectually ministers in the lives of Special Needs children and their families. We are praying about when we "Three Musketeers" can reschedule our adventure!
It is always a joy be a part of what God is doing in Eastern Europe. I am deeply grateful for the opportunities He has given me all these years to have meaningful relationships with dear women who love Him so much and who are committed to studying His Word.
I hope you will continue to pray for and support BGT as we move forward with our translation projects and leadership training conferences for our Sisters abroad.
With great delight,
Paulette
