Paul and I enjoy our practice that welcomes all kinds of patients with all manner of complaints, from the physical to the emotional to the cognitive and everything in between. We love treating little ones and families as well as adults in every stage of life. We know that many of us have complex health challenges where a one-size-fits-all approach falls short.

We love leaning into our naturopathic philosophy of treating the whole person, stimulating the inherent healing capacity, and using natural gentle medicines to create a disease preventing and health promoting plan of action.

So many people do not feel well. So many suffer with pain and discomfort. So many do not feel vibrant, energetic, and clear-minded. If you need a tune-up or if you are searching for a novel, collaborative approach to your health care, we hope we can see you soon! We love new patients and the opportunity to try and help.

I completed a series I've been working on over the last year for cancer patients and survivors, entitled, You Finished Treatment, Now What? , which you can read in its entirety and pass along as you see fit! I originally started writing this for a group of patients, and quickly realized that many others might benefit from this content, too.

As a companion to this series, I am offering a lecture at Whole Foods In Hadley, MA on October 23. See info above. Call Whole Foods in Hadley to reserve your spot. 413.586.9932. Proceeds from the $10 donation go to the wonderful local non-profit, The Cancer Connection. Spread the word!

With wishes for a peaceful and healthy autumn filled with fresh air, sunshine, and color.

Leaving Home?
Here's Some Ways to Smooth the Transition!
College Bound:
Pack the kids off to school with natural remedies
by Amy Rothenberg ND

I wrote this piece when my now grown kids were heading off to college. But the information is relevant for anyone leaving home for any reason and pertinent at times of transition. Changes in our environment or in our day-to-day life, though sometimes planned and desired, can cause stress that impacts health. Here are my thoughts on the topic. Enjoy!

Recipe: My Favorite Vegan Peanut Butter Cookies
Cookie Photo
Sometimes I just need a peanut butter cookie!
I like to make and freeze these because they are high in protein and I can grab for an after work-out treat.

  • 1/2 cup peanut butter, it can also work with sunflower butter
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 3 tbsp flour- I like to use gluten free flour, oat flour, or a gluten free mix
  • 1/3 cup sugar, unrefined if desired, I like less sweet, so will use ¼ cup and they come out fine. If you prefer no refined sugar, use the same amount of maple syrup, half the applesauce and add another TBSP of flour
  • 2 tbsp applesauce
  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp salt

Mix together your wet ingredients. Soften your peanut butter in a double boiler if you need to or if you use a microwave you can do it that way. Then mix the dry ingredients together. Blend briefly and bake for 8 minutes or so at 350 degrees. Watch them, they can burn. SO GOOD!

We want to shout out to our local maker of T-shirts, tote bags, and mugs that we use for our New England School of Homeopath y bling. The wonderful people at One Way Printing are always ready to be creative and helpful. Their work is beautiful, timely, and well-priced. We’ve been using One Way for 20 years or more. This year, we lost their fearless leader, Paul Fisher, gone too early from this world. If you have any screen printing needs, check out One Way . Lithia Basic Available-- Help Prevent Cognitive Decline!
Over the last number of years, we’ve been focusing on healthy aging and best practices with regard to treatment and preventive care. Lithia Basic™ is a nutritional bioavailable supplement designed to support healthy aging, mood, behavior, and memory, and resist the effects of stress by combining extremely low doses of bioavailable Lithium orotate with low doses of Zinc picolinate, Water hyssop ( Bacopa monnieri ), and Lemon Balm ( Melissa officinale ). The formulation is designed to take advantage of the response elicited by these compounds and plants at ultra low doses.

We have been using this formulation with patients over the last years and feel confident about its efficacy. Historically, since these doses are not easily found, we would have patients buy four separate bottles and divide each capsule into the low doses. After enough urging from patients for more affordability and convenience, we created this supplement.
