Launching The Teachers' COVID Clearinghouse
We heard from many of our teacher followers and advocates that finding developmentally appropriate methods and materials to teach remotely was a challenge. We heard you and we are pleased and proud to announce a new feature on our website - The Teachers' COVID Clearinghouse. Here you will find vetted resources shared by other educators. You can download, comment and even ask questions. The Clearinghouse is for you.
Teaching during a pandemic is challenging -- whether completely online, completely in person, or a hybrid. Our new COVID resource allows teachers the opportunity to share ideas for activities, music, storytelling and read-alouds, puppets, classroom management, and other ideas. It allows other teachers to comment or ask questions and these resources will be reviewed by us to ensure they are developmentally appropriate for the age group in which they are intended.

We invite all teachers to share their valuable resources and ideas!

Meet The Newest Member of Our National Advisory Board
DEY has been partnering with Kisha Reid over the last few years on many projects - play videos, our Summer Institute, webinars, and interviews.
For those who are not familiar with Kisha, we know her to be a tireless advocate for young children with an overwhelming capacity for joy, love, and laughter, an educator of both the young and the old and a friend. So we were thrilled when Kisha accepted the offer to join our Advisory Board and we are delighted to make this announcement to all our followers and hope you will join us in welcoming her on board.

Two Important Articles by DEY National Advisory Board Member Erika Christakis
Erika Christakis, a member of our National Advisory Board, has written two important articles that are not to be missed:
Defending the Early Years often partners or supports other child-centric organizations. In fact, you may have seen our own co-Founder, Dr. Nancy Carlsson-Paige, and our Co-Director, Dr. Denisha Jones, on webinars in the early stages of COVID-19 with Campaign for Commercial Free Childhood. The Children's Screen Time Action Network, for which DEY is a member, is a project of Campaign for a Commercial Free Childhood, and is conducting a short survey that we wanted to bring to your attention.
They are surveying the concerns of parents and teachers about increasing levels of screen use by young children as a result of the conditions of remote learning and online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.
We hope you will take a moment to participate in this important survey.
