AGC AT WORK FOR YOU

AGC MA Wins National AGC of America
2020 Chapter Public Relations Award

We are pleased to announce that AGC MA has been awarded the AGC of America 2020 Chapter Public Relations Award for the work on the 2019 Opioid Awareness Campaign.

Through a grant funded by MCAP, the campaign was launched in January, 2019 at an AGC-led Commercial Construction Industry Opioid Summit that included medical profession representatives, health insurance providers, AGC MA member firms, labor union benefit plans, and labor leaders to discuss the issue and work towards practical solutions.

The campaigns mission is to create awareness and support the industry by providing continuous resources for employers and employees through educational platforms and communication channels.

Thanks to all our industry partners for their commitment and support and to AGC MA's Lisa Frisbie, Barbara Canoni and Kara Morgan for all of their work behind the scenes.

2019 National AGC Safety Award Winners
AGC MA Merit Award Winners
Clifford E. Simmons Award Winner

Congratulations to the 2019 National AGC Safety Award winners! The National AGC Safety Awards (NASA) program has been an ongoing effort to offer AGC members an opportunity to evaluate their safety record. NASA compares a member's safety record with other AGC members according to the member size and construction type. Additionally, NASA provides a great opportunity for contractor members to compete for nationally recognized awards that have excellent safety records.

The NASA award winners are selected by the Center to Protect Workers' rights (CPWR). Award winners become eligible only after they have participated in the program for 3 consecutive years. The award winners qualify in two categories: zero lost-time accidents for the previous year and an incidence rate 25% below the average rate of the AGC participating contractors in their division and group.

The AGC MA Merit Awards were developed to recognize members who participated but had not been in the NASA program for 3 consecutive years but had zero lost time accidents or an incidence rate 25% below the Massachusetts average in construction according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics for the state and are smaller construction firms that had a total of less than 100,000 hours for the year.

The Clifford E. Simmons Award goes to the small company with the best record under 100,000 hours.
