Messa ge from Edward Phillips, Chapter President
Partner: EisnerAmper LLP

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. We began with the TMA Mid-Atlantic Regional Symposium at Harrah's in June. It was a great program and attendance was up. We had some new events including a sold out Viking Cooking School (Vikings taste best when slow roasted in case anyone is curious) and a cocktail reception with the Judges for our event sponsors. Planning is already underway for the 2019 Symposium -- more to come.

As you are aware, The 2018 Philadelphia Credit & Restructuring Summit was postponed from March to June due to bad weather. Attendance at the Union League was very good, despite some cancellations due to the change in event dates, some new registrations replaced the registrations that were cancelled. Next year's summit will be moved back to March 2019.

In July, our NextGen group put together a Summer Soiree at Morgan's Pier with the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Bankruptcy Conference and the Philadelphia Bar Association Business Law's Bankruptcy Committee. The earlier rains cleared out, the beer was cold and a good time was had by all!

Please join me in at The TMA Annual on September 26-28 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Our chapter is honored to have the following individuals recognized for their long term service, achievements and support of TMA. On behalf of our chapter, I extend my congratulations and thanks.

2018 Hall of Fame Inductees:
  • Martin Katz, Executive Sounding Board Associates (Founding Chapter Member)
  • J. Scott Victor, SSG Capital Advisors, LLC (Past Chapter and Global President)

2018 Hall of Fame Honoree:

  • Hon. Kevin J. Carey (Past President of TMA Global), U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of Delaware

TMA Philadelphia/Wilmington's Network of Women celebrates women in restructuring and turnaround with a variety of educational and networking programs. We were excited to kick off the year with our signature Casino Night, and are appreciative of the many sponsors and individuals whose contributions and attendance continually make that event a success. NOW was also pleased to team with the Philadelphia chapter of IWIRC to host a midday Lunch and Learn roundtable in late Spring at Saul Ewing's offices, where Teresa C. Kohl, managing director at SSG Capital Advisors, LLC, Regina Stango Kelbon, partner at Blank Rome LLP and Lynne Ross, managing director at Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP, led a lively discussion titled, "Building Your Path to Success: The Importance of Your Personal Network."

NOW has planned two additional Lunch & Learn events for Fall 2018. We look forward to both "Mindfulness Monday" with expert Donna Branca, currently scheduled for September 17, and to talking business development with sales strategist Beth Rosenfeld of Business Development University on November 6.

In the meantime, we hope that you'll join NOW on August 23 at the
Rittenhouse Spa & Club between 4 and 8 p.m. for our summertime spa and networking event. In addition to spending quality time with industry colleagues, attendees can choose from a manicure, pedicure or blowout. You can register by clicking on SPA event

We are thankful to our event sponsor, 50 Words LLC.

scheduled to take place on May 7, 2019. We look forward to updating
you with more information!
