Milestones in NCC's 20-year history
In 2014, New Century Careers was surprised to receive a call from the White House. They heard about NCC's work and requested program materials. After a series of calls with the Offices of the President and Vice President, an advance team followed up on Paul Anselmo's leads for a possible venue to visit and announce a $100 million competition for American Apprenticeship grants.

NCC's Training Innovation Center was not large enough, so CCAC West Hills hosted the visit. The college pulled out all the stops to make their facility ideal for the rare visit by both the President and Vice President together. NCC was honored to manage the invitation list and fill the site with staff, students, friends and supporters.

"I can still remember the cheers that filled the room when President Obama complimented the work of New Century Careers." - Paul Anselmo, NCC President and CEO.

M2K Spotlight
Before joining the MANUFACTURING 2000 (M2K) program, David provided hardware computer and desktop support for 7 years. He also was involved in theater scenery construction and carpentry work. David was looking for a new opportunity and thought NCC’s machinist training program would be a great fit.

“New Century Careers has given me the knowledge and ability to work on machines and the confidence to make parts. I enjoyed having the flexibility to work through projects after being shown how to use the machines,” David said. “Everyone was very helpful and accommodating. All of the teachers were extremely knowledgeable and willing to assist with questions. I recommend this program to anyone looking for a new start or a career.”

David accepted a position at a local company in March. He hopes to join an apprenticeship program in the future.
