Everett Public Schools Partners with the City of Everett to Launch Everett Career Link
Everett Public Schools (EPS) in partnership with the City of Everett has successfully launched Everett Career Link, a summer internship experience for Juniors and Seniors where they will complete 90 hours and earn a high school credit. EPS identified 106 opportunities for students to gain valuable experience and insight into local businesses industry sectors and more than 90 students expressed interest in the program. Students that completed the required paperwork and training have been matched with 18 employers across 34 worksite locations within the Everett School District.

We are excited to see our local businesses partner with EPS to open doors and inspire youth in exploration of career pathways. Economic Alliance Snohomish County and Snohomish STEM Network are delighted to support this valuable opportunity for industry and students alike.

Sno-Isle Creates Opportunities for Bilingual Students
Sno-Isle TECH Center is offering a interpretation and translation course to allow bilingual students to transition their expertise into a profession. The year-long course teaches bilingual high school students how to professionally relay communication between languages, while studying the ethics of interpretation, building their portfolio, running their business and preparing for the Washington translation certification exam. After completing the certification, students will be able to get a business license and work as a contracted interpreter. In the inaugural year, 18 students are enrolled in the course, including speakers of Spanish, Russian and Vietnamese. The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that interpretation and translation jobs will grow by 18 percent over the next 10 years, well above the national average for other occupations.
