Seeking Applicants for Position of Executive Director
From the desk of Dr. Joannah Clark:
Thanks to a very generous grant from the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, Trinity Academy is conducting a search for a new position of Executive Director. The position of Executive Director has its primary purpose in providing leadership in all aspects of the school pertaining to advancement and business affairs. The Executive Director will focus on administration, funding, budgeting, fundraising, fiscal management and public relations. As Trinity Academy continues to grow and flourish, I am confident that we will be well served by expanding our administration to include an Executive Director to further the strength and success of our mission of educating young men and women and preparing them for lifelong learning.

We are now accepting applications.

Outdoor School Highlights
The Trinity 6th & 7th grade classes traveled March 21-23rd to Outdoor School at the Hancock Field Station in Fossil, Oregon. The field station, which is run by OMSI, is in the Clarno Unit of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument. Among many other highlights, they got to explore the National Monument and investigate fossils found right there, learn about birds of prey and meet the resident great horned owl, and shiver in the cold while doing some field astronomy on the last night! On April 6th, the 8th and 10th graders, along with Mr. Tomassi and Mr. Clark, visited the Ape Caves on Mount St. Helens. The road was blocked with snow, so we had to hike our way into the park.

The caves are actually lava tubes formed during one of the mountains many eruptions nearly two thousand years ago. As we climbed through the lava tube, which is the longest continuous lava tube in the continental US, we got to see evidence of how it was formed, discover bacteria that fluoresce under UV light, and identify stalactites.

From Athletic Director, Sybil Hernandez:

Dear Students, Parents and Teachers,
For those interested, our cross country coach, Tim Cowley, has offered to start a running club for those students interested in running. It will be for high school students and those who will be entering high school in the fall. (Any teachers or parents interested in joining the run, please feel free to run along as well!)

The plan is to meet once a week on Thursdays, from 3:30-5:00. It will start on Thursday, April 12th.  Also, he plans to try and do one fun Saturday run a month as well. He will give you more information on that.
