"There can only be one..."
When we reflect on the Church's calendar, we should take to heart how she tries to always keep our eyes fixed on Jesus Christ and our ultimate end... heaven. The Church does this by beginning the new year with Advent, which helps us to recall the birth of Jesus at Christmas, the Prince of Peace. A time which we are typically excited for, and dread. Exciting as there is so much to do and prepare for with the holidays: decorations, meal planning, gifts! Dread, because those same things also cause a lot of stress and anxiety, as we can at times overspend ourselves in fleeting moments and experiences. Exciting, nonetheless.

So as the new year opens up with preparing for Jesus at Christmas, the rest of the year leads to this weekend that we are preparing to celebrate: Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe. This is the last weekend in Ordinary Time. No more Packer colors on Sunday... for now. :)

This sequence in our calendar helps us to remember that although we rejoice and wait for Christmas during Advent, the birth of Jesus, we are reminded that our ultimate task is to prepare for his second coming. Like the many parables we have been hearing in these last few weeks, will Jesus find us prepared and willing to receive him when he returns? This past year, have I grown deeper in love with Jesus? Do I recognize him as King of the Universe? Do I recognize him as King of my heart?

Don't give up if you don't feel that you've made any headway, we're all on this journey together. Let us continue to hold each other up in prayer and support one another in growing in the knowledge of our faith, today, tomorrow, and forever.

Mary, Mother of the Church, help us to recognize your Son as King of my heart!

Panther News

Presentation Spirit Wear is here!! Click here to view the online store. It will be open for orders through December 6th, 2020.
This year, Presentation is celebrating its Diamond Anniversary. This amazing little school has been educating God’s children for 75 years. The way kids are learning today probably looks a lot different than it did 75 years ago. At the core, however, remains the faith formation and academic excellence that drives this school.

The auction committee is hard at work planning an amazing virtual event. The event will be held on February 6, 2021, culminating Catholic Schools Week. Just as the look and feel for our students in the classroom has changed over the years, the auction will look and feel different this year as well. It is still our biggest fundraiser, however, and is essential to our school’s success.

We are currently accepting auction item donations. Please consider supporting your favorite merchants by buying a Gift Card or creating a gift basket, donating a bottle of wine, liquor or spirits, or creating an experience to share with Presentation Families.

For more information, head over to the auction website: https://www.presentationofmaryschool.org/auction/

Volunteers Needed!

The Auction Committee is looking for a few volunteers at this time. Please reach out to Errin Destics at errin.destics@gmail.com if you are able to help:

-Donations: Solicit businesses or individuals to donate auction items (restaurants, spas/salons, breweries, sports teams, retail stores, etc.) and track who you have contacted and what they are donating

Thanks in advance for supporting Presentation as we look ahead to 75 more years of excellence!
