TEKS RS Leadership Network for 2018-2019

Next year's TEKS Resource System updates will be embedded in Instructional Leadership Symposium. There will be a TEKS Resource System breakout session in each symposium meeting that will continue to bring you updates and trainings to support TEKS Resource System implementation. Streamlining & Reviews & Revisions, Oh My!
Does the planning pathway for your district curriculum seem overwhelming at times because of all the changes coming down the pipe? Well, please know that the TEKS Resource System Content Development Team and the writers and reviewers are working behind the scenes to make sure your district is ready for the upcoming changes. Here's what is coming and the timeline for release of the new curriculum documents in the TEKS Resource System!

IMPLEMENTATION
2018-2019 | Science Streamlined TEKS Implemented
2019-2020 | K - 8 ELA/R Revised TEKS Implemented
2019-2020 | Social Studies Streamlined TEKS Implemented
2020-2021 | HS ELA/R Revised TEKS Implemented

Science Timeline
  • New 2018-2019 Science TEKS have been entered into the TEKS Resource System site and are clearly labeled "New 2018-2019". They are available to view under the standards tab.
  • All new 2018-2019 curriculum documents are temporarily housed in the Resource section within a folder labeled "Grade X Streamlined 2018- 2019 Curriculum Documents" for each grade or course.
  • All new 2018-2019 curriculum documents will be published in May to live side by side with our current curriculum and will be clearly labeled "2018-2019".
  • Mid-summer, the 2017-2018 documents will be removed, leaving only the 2018-2019 documents.
  • There's a great document called Considerations for Streamlining that you can use to begin making notes for implementation! The document can be found by following the News & Updates link on the home page. Click on New! Streamlined Science TEKS Side by Sides then click the link to the Considerations for Streamlining document.

TEKS Resource System 101              for New Teachers

Using the system to meet the needs of all students will be addressed.
