The year's most important education and networking event for legal information professionals starts next weekend. We can't wait to see you in Baltimore July 14-17 for AALL's 111th Annual Meeting & Conference. With so many opportunities to connect and learn, we want you to get the most out of your AALL 2018 experience. Following are some preparation tips and a preview of what you can expect upon your arrival in Baltimore.
CONFERENCE APP (sponsored by Bloomberg Law)
AALL 2018 IN THE PALM OF YOUR HAND

When you get to Baltimore, the printed program you receive will look a little different. The newly-designed "right-sized" booklet will still include a simplified events index, but you'll find more comprehensive (and current) information online, on the conference app. From your mobile device, just visit eventmobi.com/aall2018 or search for "AALL 2018" in your app store (iTunes or Android) and download the app today. You'll be able to:
  • Build your personalized agenda
  • Sync your desktop planning
  • Access detailed program, meeting, and event information
  • Use the search bar to easily find scheduled events, speakers, and attendees--for programs, you can do a quick search by alphanumeric code
  • View interactive floor maps
  • Access program handouts
  • View speaker profiles
  • Connect with attendees and exhibitors
  • Receive important updates and notifications, including prize drawing winners
See each day's schedule at-a-glance in a list view, or use the table option to see everything in a customizable matrix view. Remember to accept "push notifications" to receive important announcements, emergency notifications, and reminders while you're at the conference. Don't have a mobile device? You can still build your own schedule by visiting the app.

KEEP IT SAFE

From foot, bike, and Segway patrols to after-hours business checks and safety escorts, you'll notice a visible presence that serves as an extra set of eyes and ears to ensure your safety around the convention center and waterfront.
  • To request a security escort in the Downtown District, call 410.802.9631, 10:30 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
  • To request a security escort in the Waterfront Harbor District, call 443.278.4701, 9:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m. (Sunday-Thursday) and 9:30 a.m.-10:30 p.m. (Friday-Saturday).

During this year's Members Open Forum, AALL Executive Board officers will be available to respond to member questions regarding AALL, as well as its programs and activities. In addition to asking questions from the floor, members can also submit questions in advance of the meeting to [email protected].
TRAVEL OFFSET PROJECT
HELPING FAMILIES BREATHE EASIER

Reduce the environmental impact of your travel to Baltimore by supporting the Social Responsibilities Special Interest Section (SR-SIS) travel offset project. By making a tax-deductible donation to the Cool Effects Cook Stove Program, you'll be offsetting carbon dioxide pollution and helping to provide efficient, clean cook stoves to families in Uganda. By replacing unhealthy and heavily polluting cooking methods, these stoves lower dangerous greenhouse gas emissions and significantly improve the respiratory health of these families. A $6.04 donation offsets a ton of carbon dioxide (CO2)--the emissions for an average trip to/from Baltimore, Maryland. Find more information on the donation page or contact David Selden, chair of the SR-SIS Task Force on Environmental Sustainability.
