Upcoming Vote on Fence Guidelines
There has been much discussion over the last six months about what types of signage is appropriate for the Old School Field Fence. While the Commissioners tried to provide some  flexibility with the existing guidelines, a group of residents believe the guidelines need to be modified. After several lengthy public meetings, the Commissioners have decided that 6TD residents should exercise their democratic rights and a town-wide vote will be held with 2 different sets of guidelines for our community fence.

This vote will take place on December 2nd in the Courtyard of the Rowayton Community Center between noon and 8 PM. Anyone who is a registered voter with a 6TD address will be allowed to vote. The Norwalk Registrar of Voters will be providing the list of all eligible voters to the 6TD. Voting will take place in a socially distanced manner. If a resident would rather not vote in person, please contact the District Clerk, Andrea Woodworth, at awoodworth@rowayton6td.com and accommodations will be made.

We will forward both sets of rules via eblast and post on the 6TD website next week so all Rowayton residents have a chance to review over the holiday, and cast their vote on December 2. Following the vote, the Commissioners will make a recommendation as to the future use of the fence.

The Rowayton Fire Department will collect toys for children, Sunday, November 29, from 1 to 3 p.m. The volunteer fire department has been collecting toys for nearly 20 years. In recent years, they’ve collected over 300 toys, books and gift cards each holiday season.

Members request that residents bring new, unwrapped toys or other gifts appropriate for children age 4 to 13 to the Fire House, 136 Rowayton Avenue. Gift cards to Walmart, Best Buy, PC Richards and Dicks Sports are especially appreciated.

The donations will be delivered to the Carver Center in South Norwalk and distributed at their virtual holiday party to be held on December11th.

For those unable to get to the Fire Department on Sunday, gifts can also be left on the front porch of 6 Vincent Place until December 1st.

Rowayton Turkey Trot 2020
Our Trot has become a great Thanksgiving tradition, and this year will be no different.

It's a little more than a week until Thanksgiving, and race week for the Virtual Rowayton Turkey Trot is here!
Anytime now through Thanksgiving, run 5K anywhere you want, post your time, and have it added to the Virtual runs of other Turkey Trotters.
For those who want to run the traditional course, we'll have it marked by this weekend.
Register now, and lace up your shoes. Hopefully next year we'll all be together again.

Entry fees or donations will as always go to benefit local Not for Profits, who have been hard hit this year by COVID.

Thank you for keeping our tradition alive!

Santa Run
Santa will be making his annual visit to Rowayton aboard his big red fire engine sleigh on Sunday, November 29th. He will arrive at the Rowayton train station at 1:00pm and then make his rounds through Rowayton, stopping at the corner of Crest and Ridgewood, Rowayton Library, the Bell Island gatehouse, South Beach, the Beach Association boat house and Brendan’s 101. Children can also visit him at the Firehouse on Rowayton Avenue from 2:15-2:45pm. Residents are also encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy or gift card to the Fire House that day from 1:00-3:00pm, as the Rowayton volunteer firefighters will be collecting toys for the Carver Center’s holiday party. We will be taking social distance precautions during the Santa Run. Please have a mask on at all times and keep 6' apart!

Light Up Rowayton
We are pleased to announce that Rowayton's Pinkney Park will be festively lit this year on November 29th after the Santa Run. We are sad to say that we will be unable to host our traditional Light Up gathering and Egg Nog Contest due to COVID-19.
