Dear IASA Member,

This past summer, IASA provided a listing of COVID-19 Back to School Resources in the August issue of Leadership Matters. One of those resources was UV-C disinfection technology through R-Zero. R-Zero is a biosafety company making hospital-grade UV-C disinfection technology financially accessible to schools for the first time. Interestingly, UV-C light has been used to disinfect surfaces and the air for over 100 years and it is the gold standard in hospitals today, proven to reduce the incidences of hospital acquired infections (HAIs) by up to 93%. However, until recently, this technology has been cost-prohibitive to organizations outside of hospitals.

We are pleased to introduce R-Zero as a new IASA School Service Member dedicated to our mission of supporting school leaders across the state of Illinois. Their product can play an important role in keeping educators, staff and students safe through COVID-19 and beyond.

R-Zero Arc: Designed for dynamic education environments

R-Zero’s hospital-grade UV-C device, Arc, provides a critical layer of added protection to school facilities, making them safer for students and staff.

  • UV-C is chemical-free and safe to use around all food, toys and equipment.
  • Arc is extremely labor-efficient and cuts 20-30% off of the time to disinfect a classroom.
  • Each cycle requires less than two minutes of touch time, saving significant time compared to other disinfection methods, and allowing custodial teams to maintain optimum levels of productivity - running a UV cycle in one classroom, while moving on to the next.
  • With built-in LTE and Bluetooth connectivity, Arc also enables school leadership to track usage and compliance via a personalized dashboard, giving visibility to a historically invisible process for the first time.

We encourage you to reach out to R-Zero if you similarly feel their solution will benefit your district. You can contact them at sales@rzerosystems.com, or visit info.rzero.com/schools learn more.
