On Campus Interview (OCI) Fall 2018
NSU Law students are invited to participate in our Fall 2018 On-Campus Interview Program (OCI), held from August 27 – November 9, 2018. OCI allows students to apply to government, public interest and law firm employers for summer associate, law clerk and permanent employment. Employers may also choose to participate in our Resume Collection Program. This program allows employers to receive resumes and application materials from students. The employers then have the opportunity to contact interested students directly to schedule interviews.
Bidding for the program begins in Symplicity on July 12. To prepare, students should review the employer list and schedule an appointment with a career advisor to have their resume reviewed and to discuss their bid list.

NSU Law Children and Family Clinic successfully reunites father and daughter
|
Six 2018 3L students, under the direction of Professor Brion Blackwelder and Professor Timothy Arcaro, successfully represented a father seeking the return of his ten-year-old daughter in an international child abduction case in Broward County, Florida.

NSU Law students receive The Florida Bar Foundation Summer Fellows Grants
|
Two NSU Law students were among those selected by the Florida Bar Foundation to receive Summer Fellows Grants to provide critical social service assistance.
Junie Cazeau is working with the Community and Economic Development initiative to help immigrant victims of violence. Daniela Sirimarco is working with the Family Defense Program, which helps immigrant clients through community education, legal screening clinics and representation.
The Foundation was able to restart the Summer Fellows Program after a seven-year hiatus, thanks to donations and pledges. Fellows attended a three-day interactive boot camp which included skills such as persuasive speaking and client interviewing techniques.

Veronika Balbuzanova and Daniella Brooks advanced to the quarter finals at the 2018 Robert Orseck Memorial Moot Court Competition held during The Florida Bar convention in Orlando, Florida in June 2018. Thanks to coaches Professor Robert Beharriell & Michelle Murray and alumnus Kara Stachel.

Jonathan Daily and Isai Bonilla are participating in and writing for the Anti-Defamation League Summer Associate Research Program. Summer associates, with ADL staff attorneys, research actual incidents brought to the attention of ADL. Their work product is a critical resource for ADL’s advocacy year-round.

NSU Law alumna Ariana Fajardo Orshan (JD 1996) has been nominated by President Donald Trump to be the U.S. Attorney in South Florida. Upon confirmation by the Senate, she will be the first woman to run the Southern District of Florida’s U.S. Attorney’s Office.

NSU College of Law hosted an alumni cocktail reception during the 2018 Annual Florida Bar Convention at the Hilton Bonnet Creek in Orlando, Florida. Dean Debra Moss Vollweiler welcomed guests and updated alumni on current events at NSU Law. President-elect John M. Stewart and NSU Law 2018 commencement speaker John Berry spoke and visited with alumni.

The NSU Trial Association will host its fourth annual Trial Advocacy Summer Institute (TASI) August 7 - 11, 2018 at NSU Law. TASI is a five-day course taught by NSU Law faculty and members of our litigation community. You will practice oral advocacy, trial skills, opening statements and closing arguments, direct and cross examination, and evidence law in a trial setting.
You must be present Tuesday-Friday 8:30 am - 1:30 pm and Saturday 1:30 pm - 6:30 pm
