NETWORK NEWS
FALL TRANSTIONS
Valued NCServes Providers,

One of the underlying themes that Veterans Bridge Home and the NCServes network are built on is transition. Our Military Service Members, Veterans and their families frequently experience transition. While in service they transition through the ranks and PCS to and from duty stations across the world. When they leave service, they return home and transition to civilian life with the support of partners and providers like you. Just as the people we serve experience transition, our organizations and the network experience transition as well, especially during this challenging time.

I am currently experiencing transition. It has been increasingly difficult to balance my responsibilities within Veterans Bridge Home and to the NCServes Network with my family responsibilities. Balancing working from home and virtual learning during this difficult time is challenging enough, however my wife and I have recently become aware that our youngest will require additional support and resources to be successful in his transition to school. After much thought and family discussion I have come to the realization that I cannot effectively meet both sets of responsibilities at this time. I have made the difficult decision to resign from my position with Veterans Bridge Home and the NCServes network to focus on family.

As I begin this new chapter; I would like to personally thank you for all you do to support Military Service Members, Veterans and their families as provider in the NCServes Network. Each of you brings unique skills and perspectives to the network and together we provide the best care and services available anywhere to our nation’s heroes. It is my sincere hope that this is a temporary pause for me and my involvement in the important work that the NCServes network is leading. Thank you for all that you do for the community. I am especially grateful for how you have helped me to grow and learn as a Social Worker, expert companion and as a person.

During this time of transition please feel free to reach out to our Clinical Director, Dr. Nicole French or our Community Consultant Diane Weekley for any concerns regarding the NCServes Network and to our Care Coordination Center Manager, Bryce Humphreys for question regarding the Unite Us platform or to connect a Veteran to resources. Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of NCServes family, it has been an honor to be a part of this work.

Sincerely,

Patrick Hayes
