Welcome to Christ Lutheran e-news, a weekly electronic newsletter which highlights programs and activities of our congregation. Feel free to .

Although many programs at CLC have taken a breather for the summer, we are staying plenty busy with the purchase of a new parsonage at 61 Fisher Street, preparations for a move, and for marketing the present parsonage at 8 Lincoln Street. Huge thanks are due Edie Lohr, John Whitlock, Pamela Bathen-White, and Bruce Schnepper, each of whom has contributed both hours and expertise to the transaction.

Be among the first to see our new digs by signing up to help with cleaning! We will be doing basic cleaning of the upstairs and basement  July 13, 14, and 15.  We will clean the main floor the week of July 23rd, the days to be announced later.

Please bring dusters, rags, buckets and vacuums; cleaning supplies will be provided. Please sign up on sheet posted in narthex and fellowship hall.  A member of the house search committee will be at the house with you the whole time.
Music Notes
Tom Berryman, Music Director
Karin Gustafson will be leading the music for our service on Sunday, July 8. Joan and I are away for a wedding in Vermont and hiking in the White Mountains.

The liturgical music for much of the summer season comes from ELW Setting Ten. You may notice that the Gospel Acclamation, the Sanctus and the Lamb of God are all based on hymn tunes. We are frequently substituting the Canticle of Praise with a hymn.

Thank you to Gail Weston-Roberts for serving as Cantor on July 1 and singing Henry Mollicone ' s gospel style " hear me, Redeemer " for the Offertory Music.

We can't wait to hear from Liana, Peter, Otto, Isaac and Fiona, as well as chaperones Nate Pearson and Patricia Bianco, now returned from the ELCA Churchwide Youth Gathering in Houston. Photos we've seen from the event look amazing!

Those who purchased shares of stock for the trip should watch for the date and time for the Stockholders' Dinner!

There will be no Bible study this week. Class will resume next week on Thursday, July 12.
Call to Action

A memorial service for Paul Nordquist will be held at CLC on Saturday, July 21, at 11:00 a.m. The family would appreciate help with the following: setting up the parish hall for the reception, providing salads or desserts, and clean-up. If you can assist in any of these ways, please speak with Pr. Bourret. If you plan to offer food, please indicate what you'd like to bring. Thank you!
Registration is now open for CLC's next Family Promise Host week, slated for July 15 - 22.  Since volunteer pools can dwindle in the summer we are especially eager to get all overnight and dinner host slots filled as soon as possible. All trained volunteers should register through CERVIS, which can be accessed at  familypromisemetrowest.org .   If you are unsure about using CERVIS, please see us, or Carol Virshbo, after service so we may assist you.   Thank You!

Sing For Joy
Enhance your understanding of the weekly scripture readings by listening to Sing For Joy http://www.stolaf.edu/singforjoy/ from St. Olaf College.  The Sing For Joy radio program, produced by St. Olaf College , has a simple mission: to explore the weekly themes of Christian worship by providing the best in sacred choral music and thoughtful commentary. The musical performances eloquently "do the talking," while the concise remarks from host Pastor Bruce Benson illuminate the meaning of the texts.
