Farewell
& Safe Travels, My Friend
Lorraine Walsh
This announcement is bitter sweet for me and has taken some time to process and digest. Lorraine Walsh, our hairstylist for 18 years, is returning to her home country in Ireland. The decision Lorraine made was a difficult one and required many years of thought. As we start to notify our clients they are saddened to hear that she will no longer be at Allure.
Admittedly, I’m struggling with the sadness. It’s been hard for me to talk about. I have spent 5 days a week for 18 years with this remarkable woman by my side.
Lorraine came to me as a young 21-year-old who was eager to learn the industry and willing to mold into a successful stylist. Like me, she was so grateful to live in America and explore the land of opportunity. I’ve observed Lorraine develop into the most beautiful and talented stylist that has made a name for herself in the community. Lorraine has been at Allure during her entire career in America. Her loyalty comes second to none. Even when she had an opportunity to explore other options, she always remained by my side. I am eternally thankful for that.
Lorraine has kept this industry professional in the way that she handles her business. She is one of the most trustful people I have ever met. Lorraine is one of those stylists that makes clients feel extremely comfortable and she is known to quietly hold all the secrets…..
As time passes, I understand wholeheartedly why she is moving. My excitement has grown for the next chapter in her life. Lorraine will be able to spend a great deal of time with her family when she moves home. Lorraine told me the other day that her Dad asked what color she wanted her room to be painted. How sweet of a gesture! Her dad, Peter, and her mom, Patty, are just over the moon to have their baby girl back.
I have such wonderful memories from over the years that will continue to make me smile during her absence.
The Allure Team and I thoroughly support her decision and want Lorraine to know that she always has a home at Allure. We will be sure to update you with her move in the next couple of months! Her last day of work at Allure will be August, 18th.
Thank you to all her wonderful clients who also understand this change in Lorraine’s life. In the next two months, Lorraine with be recommending her clients to other stylists in our salon.
I leave this thought with an Irish blessing..
“May there always be work for your hands to do.
May your purse always hold a coin or two.
May the sun always shine on your windowpane.
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.”
