NEW ART
Updates
Wow, it is hard to believe that it is already the middle of summer. I hope you have had a great year so far! Even though it has been a little while since I have sent out a newsletter update, I have been busy painting, attending classes, and finishing up several shows. For specifics on the shows you can click on the resume tab on my website, davereiterart.com. In this update, I will focus on the exciting events that are coming up in the next few months and will feature several of my newest works. You can see the entire collection of new work on my website. There are several brand new textured paintings, 6x6 miniatures, and abstracts.

"Fruit on Table"(6 x 6 in)
If you are getting this for the very first time, Welcome! For those of you who have followed me for a while, there are a few things I want to point out that you might want to take note of in several of the new pieces.   First, you will see that I have been experimenting with a variety of colorful backgrounds on some of the pieces. This is a slight deviation from my signature style with its black textured background, but I really like the effect it is bringing to the pieces. You will notice this first on the abstracts but don't be surprised if it spills over into the representational pieces in the near future. You may ask, "Why is this such a big deal?" It is a big deal because it takes a special technique and makes it even better. The effect of the texture with the color is fresh and intriguing and it may well lead to a whole new series of paintings with a variety of colorful backgrounds. This is especially exciting to me as I think of the beautiful fall colors that are just around the corner.

"Dancing Shadows" (16 x 20 in)
The second thing you will notice is my expansion in subject matter. I recently traveled to Ecuador with my family.  We had an amazing time visiting friends, exploring the country, and soaking up the beauty of the Andes Mountains. The vibrant colors alongside the subtle hues in that country were exquisite.  I was able to capture some of that beauty in "Dancing Shadows," "Leisurely Moments," and "Flower Pots." Additionally, I am currently putting the finishing touches on several pieces that feature fresh fruit hanging on the trees in Ecuador.  You will be able to see those pieces in my next newsletter.  I still love creating beautiful landscape paintings, but this expansion on the landscape concepts will provide a greater variety from which you can chose your next piece of fine art.

As always, if you are looking for a painting for that special place in your home or office, a custom piece is a great way to go. Please contact me or The District Gallery for more details.

Enjoy the work!
