Imagine No Racism Launch Day
 
On April 21, clergy and lay members across the Upper New York
Conference will have the opportunity to unite together and begin strategizing how they can work together to eliminate racism.

This event will feature Bishop Webb and members of the Bishop's Taskforce on Eliminating Racism. 
 
Please mark your calendars for Saturday, April 21, which is Conference-wide "Imagine No Racism Launch Day." Events will be held at each district's "Communication Hub." The Adirondack District's event will be from 12:30 PM to 4 PM at the Saratoga Springs UMC, 175 Fifth Ave., Saratoga Springs (12866).

Attendance for this event is mandatory for all Clergy, Supply Pastors and Certified Lay Ministers serving churches.

Laity who are passionate about racial justice are encouraged to attend.

Join us from 10 AM to 3 PM Monday, April 30 at the South Glens Falls UMC, 15 Maplewood Parkway, South Glens Falls (12803) to explore this topic with Jason Moore. Sign-in and gathering time: 9:30 AM. Admission is $5, which includes a catered lunch. If cost is a hardship, scholarships are available.

Camping Carnival Night, 6 PM Friday, April 13, Pine Grove UMC, 1580 Central Ave., Colonie (12205). Potluck dinner (beverage provided) at 6 PM followed by a night of camp games, including a chance to try your hand at log rolling: Bring a pair of shorts! Meet Ryan Siver, Skye Farm Camp Director, some previous volunteers and campers, and receive information about the 2018 UNY Conference Summer Camp Program. "Hand to Mouth" Book Study on Poverty - 6:30-8 PM
Wednesdays in May (2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd), Queensbury UMC, 460 Aviation Rd., Queensbury 12804. Rev. Phil Phaneuf will facilitate a study based on "Hand to Mouth: Living in Bootstrap America," by Linda Tirado. The 4-session class will delve into questions middle- and upper-income people have about those on the lower socioeconomic ladder. Please RSVP to the Church Office by April 23. The books are $12 each. Dr. Georgia Harkness
theologian and author, Dr. Georgia Harkness PhD. (1891-1974) will be placed at the Harkness United Methodist Church and Hall, 780 Hallock Hill Road, Peru 12972. Reception is at noon, dedication at 12:30 PM.

Plattsburgh United Methodist Men's Group Welcomes You to Breakfast On the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
The group meets at Perkins Restaurant on Cornelia Street (right off exit 38 of I-87) for breakfast, prayer, conversation, and community building. The group would like to extend an invitation to the men of the northern end of the Adirondack District to join us. Please contact Rev. First UMC of Lake George, 78 Montcalm St. meets every Thursday night, 7 to 8 PM for "Crafty Chicks." Bring whatever you are working on, such as  knitting, crochet, adult coloring or any other craft. Children under 16 must have an adult present. Please note, chicks are both male and female!! No wood-working, please. If you don't have a project come and enjoy the evening with friends. Questions? South Glens Falls UMC has a large wall projection screen available. The screen is a wall-mounted Da Lite projection screen with an inside dimension of 98" X 74" with a black border extending to a finish size of 102" X 78." Condition is very good. Replacement cost is well over $1,000, but will accept a donation toward the church's ongoing tech project. Contact the church office at (518) 793-1152 for more information.
