ANNOUNCEMENTS
We hope you are having a safe and enjoyable summer.  We are busy preparing for the 
2018-19 school year and can't wait to see you back on campus!  

Our summer office hours: 8:30-2:30 M-Th
We will be "closing the barn" on Friday, June 29th and will reopen at 8:30 am on Monday, July 9th. This will enable our maintenance staff to access the "back of the house" areas normally occupied by our twelve month employees. Despite our closing for maintenance purposes, the admissions office will still be available and Camp Wildcat will still be in session. We hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July. ~Mike

CAMP WILDCAT IS OFF TO A "SUPER" START

Summer Camp has just finished the fifth week!  We have many new campers this year and many of the same faces that we are blessed to see each summer.  Camp 2018 has been the BEST yet!





INTRODUCING....NEW LOWER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAM!
We are excited to introduce our new after school enrichment program!  We will offer classes for grades K3-5th grade!

It's almost that time AGAIN!  Mark your calendar for important back to school dates.  
HEADMASTERS LIST AND HONOR ROLL
Congratulations to those Middle and Upper School students who earned either Headmaster's List or Honor Roll recognition for their 2nd semester grades.  Students qualifying for the Headmaster's List earned a 90 or above for the quarter in all subjects without any grade below an 85.  Students on the Honor Roll earned an average of 85 or above for the quarter in all subjects without any grade below an 80.

OUR TEST SCORES ARE ON THE RISE
You should have received you child's standardized testing report. In 2015-16 our overall complete battery of scores indicated we scored higher than 65% of the normed population. In 2016-17 that rose to 76% and in 2017-18 that rose yet again to 78%! Total increase of 13% in 3 years. Keep up the great work, Wildcats!
    
FINDING KINDNESS, GIRL'S NIGHT OUT, FOR 4TH AND 5TH GRADE GIRLS 
A special night is planned for our 4th and 5th grade girls and the theme is "kindness".  The girls will be taught what it means to be a young lady of honor, faith, and integrity.  Don't forget to wear PJ's!

FIRST CEU OF THE 2018-19 SCHOOL YEAR FOR GRADES 9-12
Rachel McDonald, an educator from the Dauphin Island Sea Lab, has been invited to speak about plastics, microplastics, recycling and reducing our impact on the oceans. This talk will last approximately 1 hour and will be the first CEU offered this year. This CEU is sponsored by the St. Luke's Robotics Team.
LOWER SCHOOL MORNING CARE INFORMATION 2018-19 (K2-5th)
Ms. Cindy and Ms. Barbara will be leading morning care again this year.   There are a few reminders and new procedures:  Drop off will be in the dining hall, please enter in the doors by the stage only.  We do not allow drop off before 7:00 a.m.  A parent MUST come in to sign their child in.   All gates will remain locked until 7:40.   We are happy to provide this service for our families and appreciate everything you do to help mornings run smoothly.  We can't wait to see you!
READING AND TEXT BOOK LISTS FOR MIDDLE AND UPPER SCHOOL 
Our supply lists for the University Campus will be sent out by July 20th..... Just in time for tax-free weekend!

BOOSTER CLUB BOARD 2018-19 NOMINATIONS

CROSS COUNTRY INFORMATION: LETTER FROM OUR HEADMASTER 
We are excited to welcome our new coach for the Cross Country Team, Ms. Nicole Durham.  Coach Durham will have a parent meeting in the Dining Hall on Tuesday, July 10th at 6:30!  ALSO, Coach Durham would like to offer an unofficial run to any athlete who is interested on Tuesday, July 10th at 7:30 a.m. WELCOME, COACH DURHAM!

ST. LUKE'S WILDCAT IS NOW AN "ANGEL"
2018 graduate, Jeremiah, Jackson, was drafted by the Angels in the second round of the MLB draft (57th overall).  Jeremiah was also crowned Alabama's 2018 "Mr. Baseball" at the Alabama's Sports Writers Association Convention, named the Class 2A Hitter and Overall Player of the Year by the Alabama Sports Writers Association.  Most recently, Jeremiah was named the 2018 Perfect Game/Rawlings National High School Player of the Yea r.
