Greetings, Fellow Fundraising Executives,

Happy July! I'm pleased to report that last month's DFW Philanthropy in Action Conference was a huge success! Much of this success is the result of the conference committee's hard work. However, I would like to recognize and thank our friend and fellow AFP board member Paul A. Dunne, CFRE. He not only co-chaired this fabulous event, but he also stepped in as chair on the day of the event and still managed to present his own session! You are truly amazing, Paul, and we can't wait to see what's up your sleeve for the 2019 conference.

Speaking of next year, have you considered getting more involved in AFP Dallas? We are looking for some great volunteers to serve on our 2019 Board of Directors. For more information or to submit a self-nomination form, please contact [email protected]. Nominations are due by August 31st.

On a more somber note, I'm sad to report that friend and fellow fundraising executive Nancy Swartz recently passed away. We will miss her spunk, her smile, and her passion for helping children in our community. AFP Dallas has made a donation in her memory to Boys & Girls Clubs of Dallas.

Finally, AFP Dallas is on a short programming hiatus until August. Enjoy your summer vacation, and I hope to see everyone back at Arlington Hall on August 22nd. You won't want to miss Alphonce J. Brown, Jr., ACFRE of Docere Consulting present speaking on a very timely topic, Finding Value in Diversity in Our Divided Society.

My Best,

Sarah Elliott, President
