MCDCC Re-Org Candidates and Procedures

Thank you for participating in the 2020 Re-Organization meeting of the Marion County Democrats (MCDCC).

At this meeting we will elect a new slate of board officers as well as delegates who will represent our local party to the Democratic Party of Oregon (DPO) statewide committees, the State Central Committee (SCC) and Congressional District 5 (CD5).

The Marion County Board will be elected first in order of position: Chair, 1st Vice Chair, 2nd Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer, then we will elect SCC delegates and alternates, then CD5 delegates and alternates.

There are a few special notes that you should be aware of. Please download the Nominating Committee's Election 2020 Pamphlet here for rules, procedures and candidate statements.

Bill Burgess, Marion County Clerk says, "The beat goes on. In Oregon, we give voters up 2 two weeks after an election to “cure” a bad signature issue. Each county will certify on November 23. Then we will conduct post-election audits. Oregon will certify December 3. The Electoral College will vote December 14. No matter what others may say, this is the way we always do it - accurate, safe, secure and transparent election administration. Democracy works in America when informed voters vote."
