Earth Day Symposium Focuses on Food Justice
On April 17, the Earth Day Symposium will recognize the internationally celebrated day of environmental activism focused on the theme of food justice. The symposium will feature speakers and presentations which dedicate a day to shed light onto the obscurities of our food system.

Sociology Club Animal Shelter/Rescue Group Collection
The Fullerton College Sociology Club is collecting new items for animals in need. They will be accepting items until Tuesday, April 24. Items will be collected in Building 1400, Room 1423 or email
aandrus@fullcoll.edu for on-campus pick up. The club is looking for new and like new items including dog/cat toys, food, collars, leashes and harnesses, food bowls, pet bedding, small fleece blankets, etc.

Sherbeck Field Scoping Meeting Planned For May 1
Fullerton College is preparing a Draft Environmental Impact Report for the Fullerton College Sherbeck Field Improvements Project. The proposed project encompasses the installation of permanent prefabricated aluminum bleachers, six field lighting stanchions, a new sound system, press box and storage building at the existing Sherbeck Field. A public scoping meeting will be May 1 at 6 p.m.

Sign Up for 'Walk a Mile in Her Shoes'
Walk a Mile in Her Shoes will take place Tuesday, April 17 at 11:45 a.m. in the quad. The annual event encourages men to take a stand against rape, sexual assault and gender violence by walking a mile in women's shoes. It is a playful opportunity for men to raise awareness about the serious causes, effects and remediations to men's sexualized violence against women. Participants are encouraged to s

Health Screenings, Giveaways and More at the 2018 Spring Health Fair
Health Services will be on the quad on Wednesday, April 11 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. for the annual Spring Health Fair. This is Health Services' largest event with more than 20 different community organizations invited to campus to share information on health and wellness. There will be free health screenings, health information, and giveaways.

Fire Extinguisher Training
The campus' annual fire extinguisher training will be presented by MARX Bros. Fire Extinguisher Service Co. The training session will be hands-on training and will cover the proper use of the fire extinguisher along with fire safety in the work and home environment. Training at Fullerton College will be on April 13 at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. in Staff Lot B2 East. Fire extinguishers will also be available for purchase.

Mindful Mondays continues this week at noon in the Art Gallery. Also on Monday, Using Our One Book, One College Title in the Classroom is at 2 p.m. in Room 800 Conference Area. There is a Wordpress 2 workshop on Tuesday, April 10 at noon in Room 800D. There is a Growth Mindset Grading and Feedback workshop at 4 p.m. in Room 1429 on Wednesday, April 11. Also on Wednesday a Program Review workshop will be in Room 800D at 1 p.m. On Friday, April 13 an Aerobic Exercise Bollywood Style class is at noon in Room 1209-S. Two Canvas workshops are also on Friday in Room 800D, an Express Introduction to Canvas is at 10 a.m. and Canvas e-Portfolios is at noon

Softball
After beating conference rival Riverside City College on the road 11-7 Friday night, the Hornets hosted Pasadena City College on Saturday in a non-conference game and beat the Lancers 1-0.
Up Next: Fullerton (15-15 overall, 7-8 OEC) will host Golden West College this Wednesday, April 11 at 3 p.m.
Baseball
Fullerton clinched the Orange Empire Conference season series against Irvine Valley at home Saturday afternoon defeating the Lasers 6-3. The win keeps Fullerton in first place. They are now tied with Orange Coast College in the Orange Empire Conference after OCC took two from Saddleback in the series this past week.
Up Next: Fullerton (16-14, 8-4) will open a three-game series at Orange Coast College on Tuesday, April 10 at 2 p.m.
Men's Volleyball
The Hornets lost another close one 3-2 on the road to Orange Coast College Friday night. The loss lands FC in second place in the Orange Empire Conference behind the Pirates.
Up Next: FC (11-6 overall, 5-2 OEC) will play the last OEC game of the season at home against Irvine Valley College on Friday, April 13 at 6 p.m.
Women's Tennis
FC lost one on the road against Orange Coast College last Tuesday 9-0.
Men's Tennis
Fullerton lost their last regular-season game of the season at El Camino College last Wednesday 5-4.
Women's Beach Volleyball
The women's beach volleyball team hosted their first match of the season on Wednesday pulling off a close 3-2 win over Mt. SAC in a non-conference match.
Women's Track and Field
Marianne Gourd won the shot put event at the Glendale College Invitational over the weekend. She also won the hammer throw locking down two personal records.
Up Next: The Hornets will compete at the Cerritos Invitational on Friday, April 13 at noon.

Allegory for Grief and Grace Through April 9
Fullerton College is honored to present Lisa Congdon as the 2018 Artist in Residence. Fine artist, illustrator and author Lisa Congdon is best known for her colorful paintings and hand lettering. In addition to authoring seven books, she works for clients around the world including MoMA, REI, Harvard University, Martha Stewart Living, Chronicle Books, and Random House Publishing, among many others.
