'Carry traction devices' requirement will be lifted April 15

Effective April 15, the seasonal "carry traction devices" requirement for motorists traveling in Washington County snow zone areas will be lifted until next winter.
The "carry traction device" requirement is normally in effect November through March. This year, weather forecasts included the possibility of winter weather conditions into April. As a result, Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation Operations and Maintenance Division opted to extend the requirement in accordance with the ODOT/Washington State Department of Transportation decision to extend studded tire seasonWashington County snow zones
Work begins on 175th Avenue/Kemmer Road roundabout
Construction begins on the 175th Avenue/Kemmer Road roundabout project Monday, April 16.
Intermittent daytime lane closures on 175th Avenue and Kemmer Road will occur 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. April 23-Aug. 31. 
Two full road closures are planned during construction. The first will be a temporary closure of the west leg of Kemmer Road, between 175th and 176th avenues. The second will be a full intersection closure. These closure dates have not yet been scheduled. Subscribe to receive project updates or visit www.wc-roads.com.
This project is funded through the MSTIP Bonding Cost-sharing program. Completion is expected in June 2019. Project dates are estimates and subject to change.  More information
Open house #2 for North Bethany Main Street is May 1
The public is invited to comment on options for the North Bethany Main Street area at an open house from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, at Springville K-8 School, 6655 NW Joss Ave.
The North Bethany Main Street area is about 13-acres along NW Kaiser Road, between Brugger and Shackelford roads. Urban Design Plan (UDP) options for the area will be available for review and comment. Staff will be available to answer questions; no formal presentation is planned.

Submit comments on Draft 2018-19 Road Maintenance Program by 5 p.m. April 13
Draft Road Maintenance ProgramThe public is being asked to review and comment on the Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation (LUT) Draft 2018-19 Road Maintenance Program.
The program is a list of maintenance activities proposed for the upcoming fiscal year. To submit a comment, use the online form, email or call 503-846-ROAD (846-7623). Comments will be accepted through 5 p.m. Friday, April 13.
Staff will use comments received to develop the final list of projects, which is expected to go before the Washington County Board of Commissioners for action in June.  2018-19 Draft Road Maintenance Program
Washington County hosts Development Forum April 19
The spring Development Forum, hosted by Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation, will be 8:30-10 a.m. April 19 at the Washington County Walnut Street Center, 1400 Walnut St.
Development forums are an opportunity for those in the development and building industries to learn more about Washington County's development-related services, initiatives, and processing timelines, as well as an opportunity to network and provide valuable input.
