Rogers Corporation Expands Manufacturing Presence in Chandler
Rogers Corporation, a global leader in engineered material solutions, will be expanding its presence on Chandler's Price Corridor. The company has purchased real estate, buildings and equipment to support its Advanced Connectivity Solutions (ACS) business segment.
"We are very pleased that Rogers Corporation is continuing to expand in our Price Corridor," said Chandler Mayor Jay Tibshraeny. "Rogers Corporation is a global technology leader and this decision to invest in Chandler strengthens our position as the Innovation and Technology Hub of the Southwest."
This transaction expands Rogers' manufacturing footprint in Chandler, where the company employs roughly 500 area residents. Rogers' ACS business is projecting significant growth in key markets that include 5G wireless infrastructure and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
The Startup Connection Brings Together Chandler's Entrepreneurial Community
More than 200 people attended the inaugural The Startup Connection event, held Sep. 14-15. The two-day event kicked off with a cocktail reception followed by a full day of presentations, discussions and workshops at the ASU Chandler Innovation Center. The theme was "the art of the pitch and the science of funding" for new businesses looking to attract angel and venture capital investment.
Said Councilmember Mark Stewart, "Startup Connection was a fantastic success as measured by the incredible speakers and overall attendance. Chandler and the East Valley is filled with the spirit and energy of a start up ecosystem."
Chandler Innovations was the lead organizer of The Startup Connection. The City-sponsored business incubator will next host the fall cohort of its Pitch Power training program. Starting Oct. 4, the intensive seven week program will teach a group of businesses how to deliver the perfect pitch to seed, angel and venture capital investors.
Chandler Recognized As One of the Nation's Best Cities for Homebuyers and Renters
The City of Chandler offers a high quality of life that continues to attract new residents and businesses. One of the City's assets is its diverse and affordable supply of home options. SmartAsset recently released the 2018 edition of its Top 10 Cities to Buy a Family Home with Chandler ranking second nationally. The rankings were based on six factors, including home value appreciation, home size, property tax rate, and housing costs as a percent of household income.
Chandler also offers a leading rental market, ranking third nationally in WalletHub's rankings of Best & Worst Places to Rent in America. WalletHub compared more than 180 rental markets across two key dimensions, including "Rental Market & Affordability" and "Quality of Life."
Export Explore Program Seeks Businesses Looking to Grow Their Export Potential
Chandler businesses are invited to apply for the Metro Phoenix Export Alliance's fall 2018 Export Explore workshop series and pitch competition. Businesses will learn how to grow their sales abroad by attending a series of workshops on Oct. 12, Oct. 19, and Oct. 26. The program concludes with a pitch competition on Nov. 1, through which participating businesses can receive additional resources by elaborating on their export goals.
