Oktoberfest 2018
was a successful, fun night for all! Over 300 school parents, parishioners and friends enjoyed an evening of fun, food and dancing. A little drizzle didn't dampen anyone's spirits! A hearty Prost! to the Oktoberfest Chairs Mary Cormier and Prudence Hopkins for putting together an event that kept everyone smiling!
Mary & Prudence would like to sincerely thank the volunteers and generous donors that made this night a success!

All bicycles must enter and be walked through the Waiola parking lot only.
Spring Side:
No child or adult bicycles are allowed to enter the Spring parking lot! Walkers entering on the Spring side please use the sidewalk on the south side of the Rectory. For your safety do not walk through the parking lot car path. Thank You!!

Miss Tracy to run the Chicago Marathon!
We all wish a great day to our Physical Education teacher Miss Megan Tracy as she participates in the 26.2 mile event on Sunday October 7th! Best of luck!

Chess Club is starting!
Dates
: October 9-December 11, 2018 (No class on October 23 and Nov 20)
Time
: Tuesdays from 3:10p-4:40p
Fee
: $122 total
($112 + $10 materials fee/session).
The lead instructor of the class will be National Master Gopal Menon, a top 15 rated player in Illinois, and he is a top 35 Blitz player in the country. Gopal once beat the current World Champion, Magnus Carlsen, in an online Blitz tournament! He is also the trainer of Whitney Young High School, the National Co-Champs!!
All children will receive high level instruction with curriculum compiled and updated by National Masters Gopal Menon and William Aramil. Children will also receive free access to Chesskid.com ($50 value) to supplement their in-class instruction.

2019-2020 REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Re-registration forms for the 2019-2020 school year will be sent home on Monday, October 22 with every student in PS3-7th grade. Eighth graders will receive a form; however, it is strictly to request a registration packet for a sibling who has yet to be enrolled at St. Francis. We ask that all re-registration forms be turned into the school offices no later than Monday, November 12.
If you have a child ready to enter Saint Francis Xavier for the first time next year, please request a registration packet by checking the appropriate space on the In-House re-registration form. New student registration forms will be sent home beginning Thursday, November 1 and we ask that they too be returned by Monday, November 12. All re-registration questions should be directed to Mrs. Evans at

We invite you to tell your friends and neighbors with school age or soon to be school age youngsters to contact our Advancement Director, Mrs. Mary Tassi, with questions regarding new family registration or to arrange a tour of our school.
