As Halloween approaches, The Panama City POPS opens its 23rd season with Music of the Night, a thrilling, chilling and sublime combination of exciting and exotic, bewitching and beguiling, classical and popular music evocative of the season. Mussorgsky, Saint-Saens, Mozart and Lloyd Webber top this program. Let your imagination take you where it will at the Marina Civic Center on October 20. Purchase your tickets here.

Historic Downtown Panama City and Dine Downtown come together to throw an Oktoberfest celebration on October 20 from 4-10 PM! There will be live music from local favorites True Soul, as well as more traditional Oktoberfest music from Krankenhaus. Fun games and things to do will line the street, including a stein holding contest, brat eating contest, beard & mustache contest, cornhole, and the infamous Mr. & Mrs. Oktoberfest - as well as street vendors and brick-&-mortar merchants setting up side by side! Traditional Oktoberfest cuisine will be available both on the street from vendors, as well as inside all of the participating restaurants, with a huge selection of craft and domestic beers and wines available! PROST!!

The One Harrison Food + Wine Festival is just under two months away! Artists Sophia Urista and The Flip Flop Boys will be performing at this two day festival, along with supporting acts. Stummin' Man Ukulele Festival

How many cities have you visited across America that boast a ukulele orchestra? The Strummin' Man Ukulele Festival, hosted by the St. Andrews Ukulele Orchestra on October 12-14, brings ukulele musicians and fans from around the world to Panama City for three full days of music, food and entertainment! The festival will present concerts by some of the world's leading ukulele artists, including Taimane, whose expansive repertoire spans from Bach to Led Zepplin. International ukulele artists will lead workshops for enthusiasts of all talent levels - even curious neophytes who don't know a fret from a string - along with jam sessions, open-mic stages, a ukulele cruise, and a jazz brunch. This isn't an event to be missed!

Halloween Haunts

October is the month for all things spooky, and we have just the right the events for you in Panama City! Join us in Historic Downtown on Friday, October 12 for the the Downtown Haunted Walking Tour and hear all of the ghost stories surrounding the historic buildings that line the streets. You'll hear about tales of the supernatural, murder-suicides, pacing footsteps heard in empty buildings and many more eerie stories on this tour. The event is kid-friendly, but remember that some of these stories are nightmare-worthy and young children might get a little frightened. If you want to read more about the hauntings in Panama City, you can pick up a copy of Haunted Panama City by Beverly Nield at the local Bay County Library.

If you aren't brave enough to face the spirits on the Downtown Haunted Walking Tour, The Spirit of St. Andrews Bar Haunt might be a better fit for you. The only spirits you'll encounter here are the kind you can drink at all of your favorite St. Andrews bars and restaurants. The fun begins with a Halloween march down Bayview Avenue, led by the Wabi Sabis, beginning at the Villa Gateway Park at 5:30pm to kick off the night. So wear your best Halloween get-up and come join the party in St. Andrews for a night that's a little less scary!
