A Note from Mrs. Ryan
Dear Parents,

The virtue we focus on this month at school is  gratitude. Gratitude has been extolled as a virtue in nearly every culture throughout time. It is a core element to Christianity and other world religions. Recent research points to its importance as a coping mechanism in dealing with challenging and difficult situations in life. So it is very appropriate that we kick off our month long focus on this virtue next Tuesday on the anniversary of the fire with our Day of Gratitude. We can lift ourselves and others as well when we focus on appreciation of God's blessings.

As students of St. Rose School, our children only have to look around their campus to appreciate all of the silver linings that occurred subsequent to the fire. As if that is not enough we are also anticipating the reopening of St. Rose Preschool 2.0 which will be much like our former preschool, only nicer in every way. If you are a preschool parent, you are already aware that the youngest members of our school community will be returning to their home on Monday, November 5 th. There will be an open house for all who would like to see this sparkling new space on Sunday afternoon, November 4 th.

Next Tuesday October 9 th, all classes will be engaging in classroom activities aimed at counting our blessings and cultivating an attitude of gratitude. Mass will be at 9:30 AM, hosted by the 8 th graders, in the gym. Parents, friends and parishioners are all cordially invited. I am optimistic that the complete restoration of our campus in only one year can serve as a beacon of hope for others in Sonoma County who are at varying stages of the recovery process.

TAKE ANOTHER LOOK
DISMISSAL Every Day
The Cardinal Newman HS and St. Rose Administrations would like to remind ALL our parents to please be respectful and mindful of the following at the end of each school day:

1.  St. Rose parents of 1st-8th grade students should not be lined up in the lot or parked in the traffic circle before 2:45PM. The only cars that should be in the  traffic circle at 2:20pm are Kindergarten parents picking up at 2:30pm.
2. St. Rose parents should not be lined up in the parking lot until after 2:40PM, after SR Kindergarten & CN dismissal. It is best for those picking up 1st-8th grade students to NOT arrive on campus until after 2:45pm.
3 . St. Rose parents should not impede the flow of traffic between 2:15 - 2:45pm
4. NO ONE should ever block someone from exiting a parking space. You MUST leave your place in line to allow a parked car to exit.
5. At the end of every SR school day, some of our brave faculty and staff are out there to ensure the safety of all our students. Please be kind to them if they ask you to stop your car, wait, or move.

PLEASE, share this with ALL those adults in your family who come onto our busy campus to pick up your child(ren).  A gentle reminder to ALL, that this is a busy SCHOOL campus, where the speed limit is SLOW, patience needs to be practiced, and the safety of ALL students, Preschool - 12th grade is our #1 priority.
Let's be KIND & SAFE out there!
Thank You for your cooperation.
