Fundraiser for Harmony House
  
Want to join the HR Advantage team in supporting a good cause? 
   
We are pledging to raise funds during the month of October for the Harmony House Community Awareness campaign. The mission of Springfield's Harmony House is to provide shelter, advocacy, and education to survivors of domestic violence and promote the principle that all individuals have the right to a life free of abuse.
 
During the month of October, new clients or existing clients with new projects will receive 15% off HR Services.  In addition, we are donating 15% of all new projects  to Harmony House.  Win, win!   What a great time to have an HR audit, update or create your employee handbook, or schedule employee training and help out an organization that does good work in our community! If you prefer to donate directly to Harmony House, you can do so on our Facebook page.

Medicare Part D Notice Requirement

Medicare Part D Notice Requirement: Deadline October 14, 2018

Employers with group health plans that provide prescription drug coverage to individuals (both employees and their dependents) who are eligible for Medicare Part D must fulfill disclosure requirements. The annual open enrollment period for Medicare Part D is October 15 through December 7th, so notices must be provided by October 14th.

Why is it important that my company comply with this requirement?

An eligible individual who fails to enroll in Medicare Part D during the Initial Enrollment Period must maintain "creditable coverage" or pay a late enrollment penalty. The late enrollment penalty will be imposed after a break in creditable coverage that lasts for a period of 63 days or longer (after the Initial Enrollment Period) and will apply for as long as the individual remains enrolled in Part D. Therefore, the disclosure notice informs an individual's decision as to whether they choose to enroll in a Medicare Part D prescription drug plan.
