Thirty United States University chapters meet the GOLD standard!
 
Based on points scored on the 2017/2018 University Chapter Activity Report (UCAR), congratulations to the thirty U.S. chapters who met the GOLD standard in chapter progress, improvement and overall achievement. 

Thank you to these chapters for their amazing accomplishments. IISE takes great pride in our award-winning chapters. A sincere "thank you" for all of the chapter members' hard work!

Volunteer Leadership Training Session (VOLT) was AWESOME!
 
 
On Saturday, May 19, at the 2018 IISE Annual Conference in Orlando; 80 invited officers of IISE chapters gathered in the Pacifica 12 Room of the Loews Royal Pacific at Universal Orlando Resort for an exciting, enthusiastic and informative Volunteer Leadership Training (VOLT) session.

 
Led by Kaz Takeda (pictured right), Past Chair of IISE Industry Advisory Board and Manager-Walt Disney Parks and Resorts; the session included presentations by Bill Boyd, IISE Director of Membership, and Michael Foss, IISE Past-President, and Sr. Management Executive, Logistics Optimization - AMAZON. 
                                                                                                               
Following the presentations, attendees broke out in teams to participate in a leadership challenge on "Managing Chapters and Projects".

Concluding the session was an amazing panel discussion on "Being a Good Leader: How Do You Do It?"  This VOLT session boasted an impressive panel of professionals which included: Tina Augustiady (Director Continuous Improvement, InnovaNet), Kenneth Currie (Dept. Chair/Professor, University of West Virginia), Sean Genovese (Senior IE-Lockheed Martin), Roman Hlutkowsky (Industry Principal, Transportations & Logistics-HCL Technologies), Kim Needy (Dean Grad School, University of Arkansas), and Carl Kirpes (Enterprise Business Improvement and Systems Manager-Andeavor).
 
 
Officers of chapters should never miss the VOLT session at an IISE Annual Conference and Expo. Plan to attend next year!
