Each February, the Lake Washington PTSA Council members gather to celebrate the anniversary of the National Congress of Parents and Teachers, at the
Founder's Day Luncheon. It is a special time to recognize local Reflections winners, the achievements of PTSAs, and to recognize and award those who have conistantly advocate for children in outstanding ways. Of the eight honorees at the 2020 Lake Washington PTSA Council Founder's Day luncheon,
THREE honorees were from Redmond High School! Congratuations to Meredith Cain (2020 Community Service Award),
Sarah Raza (2020 Community Outreach Award), and
Andrea Stoppani (2020 Golden Acord Award)!
You may not know, but in addition to being your RHS PTSA Co-President for the past two years,
Meredith simultaneously held the Executive Vice President position at Wilder Elementary and is the founding Timberline Middle School PTSA Co-President. Everything Meredith does is for the betterment of children and community, whether it be serving through the PTSA, as a mentor to upcoming leaders, serving her children's soccer and hockey booster clubs, or offering a helping hand to those in need. Her dedication to our kids and community is truly extraordinary. She is an asset that we are fortunate to have on our team!
Congratulations to three very deserving and impressive RHS women! Our community is better because of your leadership!
We heard you! Thank you to all who took time to complete our recent
RHS PTSA 2020 Vision Survey! We value each and every response. The feedback will help guide RHS PTSA in the coming months, and throughout the 2020-2021 school year. Working together, we will enrich the high school experience for our students and families. Thank you!
Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Did you know that all community members, PTSA member or not, can attend a PTSA meeting? "PTSA" stands for
Parents, Teachers AND Students: That's right, parents, teachers, AND students are welcome and encouraged to attend meetings! Our next General Membership meeting promises an exciting and informative agenda. Hear from the RHS Administration, Principal Jill VanderVeer, ASB Leadership, and your PTSA Board. Share your thoughts with us. Parents, consider attending the meeting with your student! Students, bringing your friends along!
We look forward to seeing YOU 6:00 PM, April 22nd!
And, finally, the
Coronavirus (COVID-19) is on the minds of many in our community. The most updated LWSD information can be found on the LWSD website and the school guidance information from the Washington State Department of Health can be found by clicking the buttons below.
Have a great week!

SNOW DAY MAKE-UP DAYS ANNOUNCED!
Lake Washington School District has finalized plans to make up for the days and time missed due to the January snow events. The 2019-20 calendar has been modified to reflect the changes. The 2019-20 calendar has May 26 built-in as a snow make-up day,
so a total of two days must be made up beyond the built-in snow make-up day.
Due to the canceled days (January 13, 14 and 15)
the following changes will be made to the 2019-20 calendar:
- Tuesday, May 26 is now a full school day. Previously, this was scheduled as a No School: Snow Make-up Day
- Wednesday, June 17 is now a 1.5-hour early release Wednesday. Previously, this was scheduled to be a half day for the last day of school.
- Thursday, June 18 is now a regular school day.
- Friday, June 19 is now a Half-Day: Last Day of School
This new calendar means the last day of school will be on June 19, 2020 (and will be a half day). You can print the latest versions of the calendar with the button below. This plan allows the District to maintain the essential components of staff training, planning, and collaboration time during early release Wednesdays and Full-Day LEAP days, while also keeping the last day of school within the same week as the original calendar.

EDUCATION OFFERED BY PTSA
RHS PTSA is 500 members strong!
A benefit of being a PTSA is that we are also part of our local PTSA council, our state PTA, and National PTA. There are lots of resources available through these groups for PTAs and for families. Our council has many parent education events during the year. In March there will be an
Adulting 101 event for high school students
, an
Emergency Prep event (at RHS), and a
Vaping and Drug Awareness event. You don’t have to be a member of RHS PTSA to participate, these events are open to all. Have an idea for an event?
