Greg and Dan Want YOU to Attend Trivia Night

2019 Trivia Night is Coming!
2019 Trivia Night is Coming!

August 23 will be here before you know it, so be sure to save the date AND register for OLLI's Fifth Annual Trivia Night Fundraiser!

We'll be back on the Bradley campus for the event, once again emceed by WMBD 1470-AM radio personalities (and OLLI instructors) Dan DiOrio and Greg Batton.

Our theme for the evening's dress and table decorations is A Night at the Movies.  You don't need to be a cinema expert to answer the questions - only a handful of them will focus on movies and entertainment.

For just $45 per person ($360 for a table of 8), the evening will include plentiful hors d'oeuvres, coffee, tea, water, and cash bar; eight rounds of trivia fun; prizes for first and last teams, best-decorated table and best-dressed team; interactive competitions during breaks; and outstanding customer service from Continuing Education staff and friends.

If you don't have a team, no worries!  We'll place you on one, and you'll have a great night of fun while we raise money for our shuttle savings fund, student volunteer awards, audio-visual purchases, and more!

Bradley students will also be on hand to escort you to and from the parking deck in golf carts and to serve as your "Bradley Brains" for an additional donation of $25.

Online registration is easy - click here to sign up!  Thank you in advance for supporting OLLI on this fun and relaxing evening!

OLLI Learns - Share Your Favorite Books and More

Lifelong learning can continue outside of OLLI events.  Many OLLI members choose to find learning in what they read, listen to, and watch when away from OLLI activities. And they have a lot of choices.

Amazon lists 32 million books, YouTube has 5 billion videos watched daily, and there are at least 700,000 podcasts with 90 million episodes.

So, with all these choices, what have OLLI members discovered worthwhile?  The answer can be found on  OLLI Learns, a page on OLLI's website here members can both share what they have found useful and see what others recommend.

OLLI Learns currently has 4 categories:  Books (previously OLLI Reads), Podcasts, YouTubes, and TED Talks.  The site also includes a "Submit Item" tab that allows you to share your findings in these categories.  Please do!  A help page is also available where you can find FAQs and send in any comments or questions about the site.

OLLI Learns is unique to our OLLI at Bradley University.  Please support it by submitting items that you have found enhanced your lifelong learning.

The first meeting is July 31, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at Peoria Next (801 W. Main Street, Peoria, with plenty of parking behind the building).

Highlights from Bradley Magazine

Quick selfies and fast cars, poster presentations and live demonstrations, and a play based on a beloved novel by Jane Austen.  Cap it off with the academic year's biggest event - Commencement - and we had a lot going on in May at Bradley.
