Working in clinics and world class spas for many years, she went into private practice with office hours available at 35 Eastward Lane in Ellsworth as well as offering housecall appointments in our Bucksport Bay Area. In an effort to expand her education, Ariel added medical massage practitioner to her credentials, allowing her work to be covered by certain health insurance plans. After a short hiatus this coming summer, Ariel is looking forward to working with Bucksport Regional Health Center with massage clinic hours available this fall. For more information, please join us at Bucksport Regional Health Center on June 26th from 12:30 to 1:30 to hear Ariel speak on the role of therapeutic massage in health care. Learn More...

Fred Flarsky (Seth Rogen) is a gifted and free-spirited journalist with an affinity for trouble. Charlotte Field (Charlize Theron) is one of the most influential women in the world. Smart, sophisticated, and accomplished, she's a powerhouse diplomat with a talent for...well, mostly everything. The two have nothing in common, except that she was his babysitter and childhood crush. When Fred unexpectedly reconnects with Charlotte, he charms her with his self-deprecating humor and his memories of her youthful idealism. As she prepares to make a run for the Presidency, Charlotte impulsively hires Fred as her speechwriter, much to the dismay of her trusted advisors. A fish out of water on Charlotte's elite team, Fred is unprepared for her glamourous lifestyle in the limelight. However, sparks fly as their unmistakable chemistry leads to a round-the-world romance and a series of unexpected and dangerous incidents.

Free Workplace Violence Prevention Training for Small Business Retail Workforce
The University of Southern Maine, in collaboration with Maine Small Business Development Centers, has launched a free online program to train small business retail workers in preventing and responding to violence in the workplace. Two versions of the training, for employers and employees, are available now at www.mainesbdctraining.org. A trainer-led version will be available this summer.

All three versions of the training include information on the types of violent threats in retail workplaces, including robbery, shoplifting, unwelcome walk-ins, and threats from customers or employees. Employers and employees will learn how to respond to violence or the threat of violence by reading body language and using de-escalation techniques. Employers will learn how to establish a workplace violence prevention program. The trainer version will be designed for team-based learning, including activities to identify workplace risk factors and improve safety.

The training was developed to meet the needs of the busy retail workplace. The online program is free and accessible from any computer or mobile device. Participants may login when convenient and complete the training at their own pace. After successful completion, participants may download a certificate of completion.

Please go to www.mainesbdctraining.org to access the training.

Whispers reminds us that miracles happen. Sometimes they’re so small that it’s possible you don’t even notice them. At other times they make you stop and wonder for a moment before you start to chock them up to coincidence or a figment of your imagination.

The stories in this book are from people who knew better than to make excuses for what they had witnessed, and have agreed to share their experiences with you.

I called these occasional flashes of unexplained events “Glimpses” in my first book on the subject. This time I call them “Whispers.”

No matter their name, people who experience them carry them forever in their hearts and view the world a bit differently because they have caught a “Glimpse” or heard a “Whisper” from the other side of this material world.

Hard to believe it is June already. We have a couple of things to share. On page 2, you will notice that we have a new feature: a Word Search puzzle. Hope you like it. Since June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month, we wanted to help keep your brain engaged. Read more about Alzheimer’s and memory loss on page 2. And speaking of brain awareness, we offer a pain management group called Pain on the Brain, which was developed to help patients learn to control pain, and to help them take
ownership of the very real risk of addiction and other problems which are part of opiate interactions with the
body. Give us a call if you are interested in this program. Learn More...

Bucksport United Methodist Church Dedication Celebration Service
Bucksport United Methodist Church will be holding a Dedication Celebration Service for its new 3 River Road Campus on June 9th. The celebration will begin at 9:00am. with a Hymn and Praise Sing of old favorites and new contemporary music. The Dedication Service will begin at 10:00a.m. to consecrate the space to the glory of God. There will be a celebration dinner following the service at 11:30. This is the culmination of a three year journey of the former Franklin Street and East Bucksport United Methodist churches which merged to form one faith community. The merger and move were necessitated by deteriorating old buildings. After months of meetings and discussions about "From Here to There" the church was able to acquire the former Fitness Center and Training Facility of the paper mill as well as the former credit union building which will be transformed into a mission and ministry center during the coming year.

For more information please contact the church at 469-3622, or [email protected], or see our Facebook page. The worship and event is open to the public to celebrate with us, share the vision for the community, and see the facilities.
