Welcome Back Sarah!!
We are happy to welcome Sarah Nuckles back to Epiphany this week.  She returned Tuesday as our Office Administrator and to help Epiphany during the time of transition and Pastor Lingle's retirement.  Sarah will be in the church office Tuesday through Thursday from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm each week.  Please stop by or call and welcome Sarah home!

As Sarah returns, we must say "good-bye" to Myra Beals who has been our Virtual Ministry Assistant since March, 2017.  We are grateful for Myra's ministry with us during the past 15 months and her support of our mission "from a distance."  What a joy it has been to serve with her through the virtual world!!  Thank you, Myra!
ELCA National Youth Gathering begins Next Wednesday!!!
Three of our members... Jenna Humburg, Lillian Brooks, and Olivia Richardson will be joining with 30,000+ Senior High youth and chaperones next week in Houston, Texas for the 2018 ELCA National Youth Gathering.
We offer to them and  thousands of others who will travel next week, our prayers of safety, good work, meaningful worship, and fun times!

THANK YOU!!!  The congregation was so incredibly generous in your investment in our youth this past Sunday and all throughout this year, that we have met our goal for  attending the National Youth Gathering.  We estimated a need for $3600 for our three participants and have just met our goal.  We won't know exact costs until after the event in terms of transportation and meals, but we are in great shape.   It is wonderfully encouraging to witness such heartfelt support for Epiphany's youth.  We will still hold a "Flocking"  event later in the summer as a general fundraiser for middle and high school youth, but for now we are good.  Thank you!  Olivia, Jenna, and Lillian

Holy Transitions

Transitional Table Talk

Adults...
we will meet weekly for informal Q & A sessions, informational conversations, and a look at the weekly scripture lessons, from a transitional ministry view point, as we continue to work together to build a strong foundation for the pastoral transitional process. Pastor Lingle will lead the weekly discussion as we continue the process of transitioning to new pastoral leadership during the next three months.  Everyone is invited to join these important conversations as we look forward to our community's future together.

Children and Youth...

Even though we will be pausing Godly Play and Sunday School for the summer (Rally Day will be September 9 as a NEW year will begin), Sally Lingle will be available each week to welcome the children and youth whose parents and grandparents will be participating in the Transitional Table Talk conversations.  No lessons will be planned, but the children and youth will be able to be creative in their own ways through personal activities, the use of our art supplies, or any individual or group activities/games they may want to bring from home.  They will be in Godly Play Room #1.  Lori Oxendine, our child care provider in the nursery, will be available as always to care for the younger ones (3 and younger).
Mission Council Discernment Time...
This Sunday is the last Sunday for our pre-worship preparation time we have conducted each week during the month of June, for congregational discernment as we seek two members for the Mission Council.  Taking time to pray and discern together for two new leaders for our Mission Council is the first process in the "call" process for a "new" Mission Council. Come and be a part of this time of congregational discernment as strong leaders are called to help Epiphany move into the next chapter of mission and ministry. Continue to pray that two strong leaders will be led to serve on our next Mission Council.
Hunger Outreach Needs HELP

In order to continue coordinating HOP I realize I need some help in key areas.

Back to School BBQ
This position will require you to collect school supplies and deliver them and specific food items to Flint Hill Baptist Church on the second Tuesday in August.

Christmas Eve Dinner
This position will require you to collect Christmas gifts and deliver them and specific food items to Flint Hill the week before Christmas.

Delivery Route
This position will require you to manage any changes to the monthly route and have drivers ready to go for the month.

Please consider taking on one or more of these jobs. If I can't get the assistance, then I'm afraid I will need to step down.   If interested, please contact me at [email protected] or 803-389-8174.

Thanks!
Angela Sugameli
Worship Servers Needed
If you would like to take advantage of opportunities to serve as ushers, lay readers, acolytes, in our 8:00 or 10:30 services or as altar guild members, coffee cleanup ministers, offering tellers , you're in luck! There are openings for new and returning ministers of all kinds. Just let Marilyn Magers know - talk to her, call or text at 803-280-0082, email at [email protected] or [email protected]   Thanks!
The Monday Morning group is taking a summer break, will begin a new study season in mid-September.
The Poor People's Campaign: A National
Call for Moral Revival, 40 Days of Action,
is now in its sixth and final week. Throughout the week there will be teach-ins and rallies in many locations, confronting our country's distorted moral narrative, and culminating in a "Stand Against Poverty" march, rally, and moral revival in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, June 23. Buses -- including one or more leaving from Charlotte, N.C., this Friday morning -- will travel to the nation's capital to join in.
For full information about the movement and a schedule of activities, see the Repairers of the Breach website, https://www.breachrepairers.org/
We are in need of Grocery and Gas Gift Cards for our Food Pantry

In addition to the food items which we distribute from our Food Pantry, we also like to keep a supply of grocery store gift cards to give out when there is a need for individuals to have items which we can not keep "in stock" (milk, bread, meats). Cards valued at $10 or $20 are the best as these allow us to help more families.  Also, $10 Gas Cards are very helpful for those who stop at the church for emergency needs.  If you are able to provide grocery or gas cards for our food pantry ministry, please place them in the offering plates on Sunday.  Thank you for helping in this special way.
