THANK YOU FROM RUSSELL & DIANE!

Diane and I wish to thank the UMCE family for the great send off Sunday. We were overwhelmed with the attendance, the music, the food, the gifts, the hugs, and the very kind words (my dad would have thought them nice and my mom would have believed them).

We have great memories of our years with you, and we look forward to seeing what God is going to do in your future. I vision GREAT things for you!

Please stay in touch, and if you are ever in Mississippi come see us! Our new contact information is:

EChO LUNCH PROGRAM
DONATIONS NEEDED!

Five churches agreed to take part in preparing meals for EChO volunteers and clients, and each have been providing soup September through May, one week per month since 2010.  It is amazing that dedicated volunteers from Evergreen Lutheran Church, Bergen Park Church, Church of the Transfiguration, Rockland Community Church and Congregation Beth Evergreen, with the support of their congregations have kept this going.  For 39 weeks a year a volunteer brings to the EChO office 4 to 5 gallons of home made soup to be served from a crock pot to anyone who comes to their door.  This year EChO wants to extend this ministry to the summer months with either salads or sandwiches that will feed approximately 160 hungry mouths each week.

As part of the Missions team, UMCE has signed up to make lunches the weeks of June 25-28, July 23-26 and August 20-23 for the EChO volunteers and hungry visitors to the food bank. T his is where we could use some financial help to purchase the ingredients for these meals over the three weeks of our responsibility. Right now members of our prep team are Jan Thurling, Clyde Sacks, Karen Olson, Alice Slanec,  Debby Humphrey and Ruthanne Huber.

There will be a donation basket available each Sunday with prayers for your help in this mission. If you write a check, please clarify the intended use for EChO lunch program.

Thank you!

Don't take your tithe on vacation!
This summer, if you can't make it to church due to travel or other commitments, we encourage you to continue making your regular donation. Signing up for on-line giving through the church or your bank is an easy way to ensure that your tithe gets to the church every month. We rely on the consistent financial support of the congregation and depend on your regular contributions to operate the church all year long. We thank you for your continued support!
