Ariz. Units Transport Food to Quarantine Facilities
Phoenix-area squadrons in Civil Air Patrol’s Arizona Wing are transporting food to two facilities where people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic are quarantined.

The mission began in mid-June in response to a Maricopa County Department of Health request tasked through the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs.

“This is our chance to demonstrate to our county and state partners that we are a resource they can count on today and in the future when other mission needs arise,” said Lt. Col. Paul Rehman, who is serving as incident commander.
Region's Virtual Staff College Graduates 100
One hundred Civil Air Patrol senior members sharpened their leadership skills over the Northeast Region’s staff college, conducted online May 19-June 30 because of COVID-19.
The participants represented 18 wings and all eight regions across CAP, including representatives from every wing in the Northeast Region. Staff and instructors covered a wide variety of topics crucial to the development of senior officers and NCOs.

“Because of the unique challenges we have been facing in 2020, Northeast Region assembled a fantastic training team to think of ways to conduct a virtual region staff college,” said Col Jack Ozer, region commander. “Their innovative ideas along with hard work led to a successful college and graduated the highest number of students in Northeast Region history. My congratulations to the staff and all the students.”
Member Makes Surgical Mask Straps with 3-D Printer
With COVID-19 presenting challenges to traditional American life, an opportunity for creative service was not lost on 1st Lt. Justin Ragsdale of the Arkansas Wing’s 99th Composite Squadron.

In response to a request from his wife, Audrey, 3D printing hobbyist Ragsdale put his equipment to work producing more than 400 surgical mask strap holders for Memphis-area hospitals.
