Westland Hosts Annual "Kick Off the Summer" Community Gathering


Westland, MI-  Mayor William R. Wild invites everyone, especially families with young children, to the City's annual "Kick Off the Summer" Community Gathering.  Park It Movie Night will take place at Central City Park, 1901 N. Carlson, on Thursday, June 28 beginning at 5:30 p.m.  This year's film, "Despicable Me 3" (Rated PG) will be shown on a large outdoor screen beginning at 7:00 p.m.
 
"I look forward to hosting this event every year as its our official 'kick off the summer' event," commented Mayor Wild.  "Events like these give my administration and the Westland City Council an opportunity to meet residents informally, hear their thoughts and ideas about improving the community and allow our families a chance to enjoy fun and free activities at Westland's beautiful parks."

The event also features free hot dogs, popcorn and water as well as free giveaways and kids safety activities.  Attendees will have the opportunity to check out the latest Police, Fire and DPS equipment  and even meet the Police K9 Hemi and the Fire Department arson dog, Bella.

Admission to the H20 Zone Splash Pad will be free beginning at 5:00 p.m.
