LEGOFEST 2020

LegoFest returns with fun for builders and makers of all ages on Saturday, March 14th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM!

Lego is not just for kids and the amateur experts of the Wisconsin Lego User Group certainly prove that.

Take inspiration from their stunning creations which will be on display, and see what you can build with bricks and Lego Mindstorms.

We'll also have a prize drawing for a lucky winner or two.
UNDERWATER HISTORY
Did you know that Wisconsin has over 700 shipwrecks?

Tamara Thomsen is a maritime archaeologist with the Wisconsin Historical Society's Maritime Preservation and Archaeology Program. Her job includes diving into the cold, murky water of Lake Michigan to discover and document the shipwrecks that lie at the bottom of the lake. Every ship she finds has a story. Why did it sink? What was the cargo? Were the passengers rescued?

On Tuesday, March 24th from 7:00 to 8:00 PM, Tamara will present Underwater History: Great Lakes' Shipwrecks. She will take us down to the depths alongside her, relating the challenges of her work and the shipwrecks she has helped to document.
WE RECOMMEND...
In The Body: A Guide for Occupants by Bill Bryson bestselling author Bryson describes the nuances of the body from top to bottom. His conversational delivery makes it easy for a non-medical person to understand the facts and research, both historical and current, about the health and disease of our human form.

Here For It by R. Eric Thomas is a hilarious and heartfelt memoir from Elle contributor ( Eric Reads the News) Thomas, and a welcome contribution to the genre. With signature wit and cultural commentary, Thomas shares his journey to figure out the many parts of his identity in a world that seems to proscribe who he - a black gay Christian man - should be.

by Rebecca Makkai is a beautiful novel about family, tragedy, community, trauma, and activism spanning decades, continents, loves, and lives. From Chicago in the eighties to Parisian riots during the modern day, The Great Believers explores the way massive, world-changing events like outbreaks and unrest affect the individuals trying to survive them. I highly recommend it.
