From the JVA Office: The Official Impact of a Volleyball Event

There are two keys to hosting a high quality volleyball event: (1) having competitive teams who elevate the level of play and (2) having great officials who love and understand the game. Many do not realize, but aside from teammates, coaches and parents, the next most visible figure at a volleyball event is the officials, and in many ways they are the ambassadors to the teams. Researchers estimate that in the United States there are between 21 and 28 million youth, ages 8 to 17, that participate in organized sports. According to a poll from the National Alliance for Youth Sports, around 70 percent of kids in the United States stop playing organized sports by the age of 13. Tamarack Beach Volleyball Club was founded in the Summer of 2013 in Carlsbad as a small year-round beach club with only 4 athletes.
