DOGS IN NEED OF HOMES
WE GET LETTERS . . .

"I am emailing on behalf of my 72 yr old mother. She was given two puppies (mixed breeds) for Christmas. She is not one to say to no helping animals. These two sweet dogs have grown bigger than she is able to care for. Both of these dogs have been spayed and neutered and are up to date on their shots and heart-worm treatment. We are looking for the best way to re home them without sending them to a shelter."

They are almost 7 months old ( born in Nov 2018.) They are approximately 40 lbs. Right now they are with me in Yulee. Black/white is a female all black is a male. We think they are siblings.
ALERT - LUCY NEEDS HELP NOW!

Lucy is like many of the dogs that FAN sponsors. They have been neglected and abused by their owners only to wind up in shelters where they are labeled, "high risk." Eventually, they are labeled “unadoptable” and euthanized.

Lucy was used for breeding and dog fighting, a “gamer.” Judging from her fear of a water hose and the callouses on her elbows, she lived her life in an outdoor kennel with a concrete floor. She is not house trained, but she has been working with her foster and her trainer to master that habit and she is making progress.

Lucy is about five years old. She is spayed and current on her vaccines. According to her foster parent, she loves children and is and eager to please. She trusts people enough to cuddle and snuggle. Her trainer believes that she would make an excellent companion in a loving home without other animals.

It is up to us to give her a new lease on life. If you are interested in helping Lucy, call, or text, (904) 790-3439 or (540) 327-1874. FAN will continue to offer support to help this precious dog.

Please spread the word about Lucy by sharing this w ith your friends.
STELLA WAS ABANDONED IN AN APARTMENT BY HER OWNERS

This is Stella. She was abandoned in an apartment and only discovered when management went to evict the tenant. She was left without food or water. Stella is a sweet, fun loving pup. She is about a year old, loves dogs and people.  She is staying with our partners at Hot Paws where s he will get some basic training. All her medical care is covered by FAN. Please contact Hot Paws, (904) 277-3075 or send an email to  frofals@gmail.com  to ask about Stella
WILLIE NEEDS A NEW HOME!

Willie will be our special guest at Yappy Yappy hour on June 1st at the Green Turtle. He is staying with Lindsey at Paws Obedience because his owner released him to FAN. Why? His owner’s mother is moving in with her, no big deal except her mother has a very large dog that wants to bully Willie. The mother said Willie had to go! Willie has been with his owner for three years ever since he literally dragged himself into her yard...broken leg, damaged pelvis. Now good as new. She could not bear to take him to shelter, so she called FAN. Lindsey took Willie to Shrimp Fest...he loved it! Has lived with other dogs, cats, and loves people, perfect on a leash, etc. Lindsey says he is a happy boy. He was neutered on May 14 and is ready to go to his new home. Please meet your new BFF @ YH!

"Willie is about 4 yrs old ... I've had him 3 yrs in Jan. He is very loving and really likes my dad and sons. His life started out a little rough, when he showed up at my house ... he had a broke right hip and his back left leg was broke in 2 places. He dragged himself along ... looked like a fish. Now he walks, runs and even jumps and climbs onto my big bed .....has arthritis and he has some skin allergy problems. Willie lives... with 2 small dogs and 2 cats . He has not been around a lot of dogs other than family dogs. I'm having to re home because my mother is moving in with me .... her dog wants to fight with Willie."

Please contact  frofals@gmail.com  to help Willie (FAN will cover neutering costs and additional medical care)
Join Our Buddy System

One of our first contributions came from a gentleman named “Buddy.” He is on a fixed income but wanted to help the animals. He set up a $10.00 per month contribution using PayPal. Of course, that contribution means much more to us than $10.00. And just think, if we can get 10, 50, or 100 people or more, each contributing just $10.00 a month, how that will help support medical costs for our homeless animals. Please join Buddy with your $10.00 a month contribution via PayPal or credit card.   It is linked on the FAN homepage….  www.friendsanimalsnassau.org

BEFORE FAN - - - AFTER FAN
Friends of Animals Nassau (FAN) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Nassau County Florida. FAN focuses on finding homes for dogs and assists in their medical care, including heartworm treatment. FAN is NOT an animal shelter, instead we keep dogs in loving foster homes with caring people while they undergo treatment until we find them a furever home. We are able to help dogs through the work of our tireless volunteers, our fundraising events, our generous sponsors and your contributions. All donations are tax deductible.
